This is INSANE!!!! The number of Iowa fans here in Indy is beyond AMAZING!! I knew we would represent, but this is ridiculous!!!!

The Player are really going to appreciate this I think!!

GO HAWKS!!!
A whole bunch of MSU fans will file in tomorrow. They don't have far to drive.

They will not show...like I said the Final 4 last year(different fans were all in their section at Indy...good(friendly) fan base ,but they do not roll deep

I live in Michigan and know a lot of Spartans driving down in the morning. We will have our Hawk flags blowing in the breeze as we trek down 69. It is 4 1/2 hours for us.

Plan to arrive by 12:30, can't get in our lot until then.

Iowa City is 1 hour farther away then Lansing, Michigan from Indianapolis. I live on the north side of Indianapolis, as I have for most of my life and I am flabbergasted by the number of Iowa fans in town. I saw them at lunch, after work etc. and I live over 30 minutes away from downtown, amazing. This will be by far the largest crowd ever in town for an out of state team.

I went to the final four where MSU and Butler played and then Duke and West Virginia a few years ago at Lucas Oil. I walked up to the box office and purchased tickets at face value. That is not even going to be close to what happens at this game and there is only 2 teams.

Thank you! I keep seeing people talking about how much closer MSU is than Iowa so I google mapped it. It was just an hour difference. MSU could well have a lot of fans drive down in the morning. But so could Iowa.

We did -- from Des Moines -- and so did a whole lot of other Hawk fans, as evident by the massive Iowa crowd.

I spoke with several MSU fans who were absolutely blown away by the turnout of Iowa fans. One guy said he thought it was about 85% Hawk fans. It really was impressive to see in person. One whole end zone and one whole side were about 99% black and gold, the other end zone was about 50/50, and the other side (technically the MSU side) was about 30% black and gold. And the black and gold stripe thing actually worked, which surprised me. MSU fans commented, "What's up with this color coordination?!" They were impressed beyond belief. Sadly, MSU ended up with the total that really mattered in the end.

Hoping Hawk fans take over Pasadena in the same way but that the Hawks get it done on the field, as well.

I was blown away how loud it was after the 85 yard bomb. It was like a home game.

Agree, Packer. And the "I-O-W-A" chant after that TD was incredibly loud -- much like what you hear in Kinnick. MSU fans at that point were pretty stunned in more ways than one. Hats off to the Spartans for coming back from that huge momentum swing and pulling it out. You had to like our chances very much after that bomb, with the crowd very much into the game and a 4-point lead.

Loudest I've ever heard a stadium. My ears were still ringing at the hotel.

It was a great time. And hats off to the MSU fans. They really were outnumbered, but still a ton of fun to party with before and after the game. I don't want to say it would be an intimidating environment around Indy, but it would have been easy to dislike all the hawk chants and sheer numbers. I flew out of indy with a new respect for the Sparty group.
