The first time I heard this song it immediately became one of my favorite Black Keys recordings. Those guys are at their best when they remake old blues songs.
One of the best songs nobody knows about. The classical piano interlude is just delicious midway through. Jazz to classical piano and back. The transitions. (well, I think it's jazz, whatever it is, delicious)
I don’t know why Gloria Hardiman never became more famous. Her voice in this song is just incredible. The only reason I’ve even heard of her is because they used this song in Season 1 of Reacher when Roscoe got nekkid in the shower.
Jimmy Reed was mocked by his fellow blues musicians for his voice. His inflections and phrasing were perfect though.
You can pretty much take your pick from Terry Reid. This one is mine because when I need a little pick me up it never fails:

I had a chance to see them at The Hideout in Chicago a couple of years ago, but I couldn't make it. The Besnard Lakes are fantastic.

I remember hearing Ashes of American Flags around...2004? That was my first experience hearing Wilco. It blew me away.
