Guyton

Kinda noticed lack of enthusiasm as well, but could just be her personality.
Started watching replay of last night's game. In the 1st quarter Guyton made her 1st shot, traveled, turned it over again while trying to dribble between 2 defenders, and then let Swords dribble around her for a layup. All this in 3 minutes. Understandable mistakes for a freshman, but not worthy of starting status in an important game. Plain to see even for a previous All-American.
Her personaily does seem more subdued and a little less enthusiastic than the rest of the team. This may not be a bad thing as someone needs to bring some of the intensity that Caitlin had. I think she has a bright future, and I think she is a valuable member of the team. She does seem to have hit the freshman wall a bit, and is working through that. The seniors also elevate thier game, so that affects her minutes. I hope she wants to be here and is willing to work the process. I think she could benefit a lot from going through a health offseason and training camp. Jan mentioed tht early on when she looked good the playbook was small with her in, and now shes being asked t process a lot more. There is also game fim on her so opponents are game-planning for her now.

We’re now 5 pages in. She’s a Freshman just like the rest of our Freshmen. If you notice most of them have struggled as the season has wore on. Her dad needs to let his daughter be. She’ll be fine if she stays and trusts the process. If not, and they think she needs to move on that’s fine as well.

For what it's worth, one can go back to AJ Guyton on the "hawkeye of the storm" post game show linked below for a brief window to his personality. Might be worthwhile for those curious but my takeaway was he's a very reasoned, patient, smart, and insightful basketball mind. His attitude was aligned with the comments he's publicly made about Lisa, Jan, and this program.

And this all happened within 2 hours of the loss to Oregon for context.
