He lost to a guy who lied 30+ times.Saying Trump outperformed Biden in that debate is setting the bar REALLY low.
Easily the worst debate from a candidate I’ve ever seen.
Jesus are you going to be ok. You've been a real downer on here lately. No honest takeaway from that debate viewed it as Kamala “destroying” Pence. She came off as a lightweight. My hope is that she’s gotten better in the last four years, but I’m not holding my breath.
Would love to see Buttigieg in her place.
There were 10 total candidates in that debate - Harris, Biden, and Gabbard, along with Gillibrand, Yang, Booker, Inslee, de Blasio, Castro, and Bennet. Harris got the second most airtime, behind only Biden.Again, the Tulsi attack came out of nowhere. There were what, 19 other people on that stage? Kamala didn't see it coming and I don't know how she could have. Tulsi blindsided her. That stuff happens and I wasn't about to blame any of them for that. I didn't blame Biden when Kamala hit him and I didn't blame Tulsi when Pete made her look like an idiot.
Do you think Trump talking is a winning strategy for him? He'll be lucky if he doesn't call her a bitch on a hot mic.Because she will be coached not to say much at all, she can't win if she has to talk
Get your popcorn ready...When has Harris ever crushed anyone in a debate?
As opposed to Lying Donnie Sexual Abuser who can't win if he does talk.Because she will be coached not to say much at all, she can't win if she has to talk
I’m fine. My takeaway four years ago was that Harris was a weak pick, and that was amplified by her performance against Pence and pretty much all of her public speaking.Jesus are you going to be ok. You've been a real downer on here lately.
I remember my takeaway far better than the debate itself. I was very disappointed. You have a far better memory of that debate than I do. I remember being bored and the fly.
Whatever helps you reconcile your moronic beliefs with the facts. If that means convincing yourself any opinion different that yours is not serious, so be it, right coach? I believe ABC NBC CNN and MSNBC are not serious news outlets but nothing more than leftist political amplifiers.Fox is not a serious news outlet. If she makes Trump look as bad as everyone expects on ABC, why would she agree to any more debates?
Besides Trump is the one trying to back out.
It’s really down to 5 states. That could be pushed either way by some late event. For Trump in 2016 . The Hillary’s emails, Comey reveal got him over the hump in PA, WI, and MI.I’m fine. My takeaway four years ago was that Harris was a weak pick, and that was amplified by her performance against Pence and pretty much all of her public speaking.
It’s great that Biden stepped down. She has a strong chance of winning. But let’s not get carried away with how good we believe she is going to be campaigning. And The538 currently gives her a 58% chance of winning. This is going to be close.
Good ol’ Spaceboy, bastardizing my points as always. I’m not white-knighting anyone. I’m saying that people who think Harris is going to crush Trump in the debate are setting themselves up for disappointment. How many pages will TJ white knight for a rapist felon? STAY TUNED!!
I remember three things from that debate - 1) Pence kept interrupting Harris, 2) He wouldn’t stay on topic, constantly talking about something other than the question he was asked, and 3) A fly kept landing on his head.I remember my takeaway far better than the debate itself. I was very disappointed.
When Fox has to pay nearly a billion dollars for lying on the air, and when their arguments in court amount to basically "We're not news, we're entertainment", that tells me they aren't to be taken seriously.Whatever helps you reconcile your moronic beliefs with the facts. If that means convincing yourself any opinion different that yours is not serious, so be it, right coach? I believe ABC NBC CNN and MSNBC are not serious news outlets but nothing more than leftist political amplifiers.
She can’t even talk to the press how is she going to have difficult conversations with China and Russia? She should be open to debate anything and anytime.Trump is already setting up to dodge it again. Old senile man with just enough sense to know he's going to get crushed.
It was a VP debate, what were you expecting?I remember my takeaway far better than the debate itself. I was very disappointed.
Sure, but still difficult to defend from 9 different angles. We saw it constantly in ‘20 and from republicans in ‘16 and ‘24. Everyone would basically look for one opening to get some canned attack line in, to have a moment. That was Tulsis. There were 10 total candidates in that debate - Harris, Biden, and Gabbard, along with Gillibrand, Yang, Booker, Inslee, de Blasio, Castro, and Bennet. Harris got the second most airtime, behind only Biden.
One of the most important components of debate prep is anticipating where your opponent(s) are going to attack you and being prepared to answer that attack.
Harris had to know going in that she was going to be a target because she had rocketed up to about 18% in the polls after the first debate when she told he “that little girl was me” story. There was no more flying under the radar. If she didn’t anticipate that someone was going to attack her record as a prosecutor then that’s on her.
Ordinarily I don’t give much thought to the VP candidates. But considering that the two Presidential candidates in 2020 were well into their 70s, there was a very real possibility that one of those VP candidates would be asked to step up and become President at some point. It was a VP debate, what were you expecting?
There’s a part of me that wonders why we have a debate between two people vying to be the 5th wheel in American politics.
Even if she didn’t anticipate that it was going to come from Tulsi, she should have known it was going to come from someone on that stage.Sure, but still difficult to defend from 9 different angles. We saw it constantly in ‘20 and from republicans in ‘16 and ‘24. Everyone would basically look for one opening to get some canned attack line in, to have a moment. That was Tulsis.
Okay 10. Yes I understand that but she was still blindsided by that attack. Tulsi vs. Harris would have been a different story. It's ultimately not that big a deal to me. If Pence had destroyed her in a debate, head to head, I would be more concerned. Like I said, Tulsi got put in place by Pete...she didn't see his reaction coming. What you're saying is easier said than done. There were 10 total candidates in that debate - Harris, Biden, and Gabbard, along with Gillibrand, Yang, Booker, Inslee, de Blasio, Castro, and Bennet. Harris got the second most airtime, behind only Biden.

Stay a simpleton. She can’t even talk to the press how is she going to have difficult conversations with China and Russia? She should be open to debate anything and anytime.

I would be concerned about how she would perform. I guess I am a lemming who isn't stupid enough to vote for a rapist conman. I didn't fall for the grift. How about you?No you wouldn't Tom,.. You're a good little lemming.

Projection. Trump has been a scamming conman his whole life. You use no logic to try and make this argument. I was a Republican once upon a time, and then I figured out they were full of crap. I worry you will never catch up...especially when you can't see it from the fake college, kids rip off money for puppies, sexual assault is no big deal, guy. Find some common sense somewhere.Actually, this is you falling for the DNC grift Tom...

I have,.. and that common sense tells me not to support the politics of the progressive left.
Maybe? There’s only so many things that you can prepare for. - tulsi would not have been high on the threat list, and this long ago I have no idea what the topics/questions were that led to that.Even if she didn’t anticipate that it was going to come from Tulsi, she should have known it was going to come from someone on that stage.
I think there are worse things that are completely within the realm of possibilityDo you think Trump talking is a winning strategy for him? He'll be lucky if he doesn't call her a bitch on a hot mic.
You’re somehow still missing the point. Forget about Tulsi. Harris didn’t have to know that it was going to be Tulsi specifically who would come after her. All she needed to know was that someone was going to. It could just as easily have been Gillibrand or Booker or de Blasio or anyone else on that stage.Maybe? There’s only so many things that you can prepare for. - tulsi would not have been high on the threat list, and this long ago I have no idea what the topics/questions were that led to that.
It was a bad moment for her, and derailed much of the momentum she had.
Those debates were such circuses with too many candidates, not even including the under-card one; hard to prep for everything.
I get your point - mine is that when you’re facing incoming fire from 9 people it’s difficult to prep for everything. You’re somehow still missing the point. Forget about Tulsi. Harris didn’t have to know that it was going to be Tulsi specifically who would come after her. All she needed to know was that someone was going to. It could just as easily have been Gillibrand or Booker or de Blasio or anyone else on that stage.
Harris went from 3% in the polls to 18% in the polls after the first set of debates. She was suddenly thrust into the spotlight, which made her a target. In the month she had to prepare for the second set of debates she needed to ask herself what her biggest weakness was. Where might the other candidates try to attack her.
If you’re a football team and your biggest weakness is protecting the quarterback then you work on pass protection in practice.
If you’re running for President of the United States and your biggest liability is your record as a prosecutor then you’d damn well better come up with some solid responses for when one of your opponents attacks your record as a prosecutor.
Trump will destroy himself but you won't notice. She should have mopped the floor with Pence. But it was more of a split decision. The fly that kept landing on Pence’s head was the most memorable thing that happened that night.
She had one shining moment with her “that little girl was me” story and then Tulsi Gabbard of all people completely destroyed her campaign.
You might be setting yourself up for disappointment if you think she’s going to destroy anyone in a debate.
Meliana seems quite pleased to listen to Herr Trump's childlike rants. She enjoys them so much that she avoids him at all cost. Can you imagine being her husband and having to listen to this nag 24/7?
Yep. Pretty simple formula to beat Trump. The thing is that Harris doesn't have to win. All she needs is keep repeating the infamous Ronnie R. "There you go again".
I think Vance will lie the entire time and his supporters won't care. His attacks on Walz are already lame...kind of like when someone says JD bangs couches. This isn't Walz' first rodeo. Facts are on his side. He just has to use them.Yep. Pretty simple formula to beat Trump.
Send a couple jabs his way (I suggest something about him lying about his golf handicap and throw in how the election wasn't stolen) and let him commit seppuku.
There are lines of attack on Harris a disciplined politician could exploit...Trump ain't it. (I think he loses biggly)
I expect the much derided Vance to hold up much better against Walz. (probably a draw)
