The shenanigans it has brought to this board, aside, has Trump as president had any noticeable effect (positive or negative) on you or your immediate family?

The president simply doesn't have any bearing on your life being better or worse except in very rare circumstances (e.g. You're a political appointee).

They're not related.

Agree. But people's life here got worse under Bush and better under Obamas and vice
Versa. I'm wondering it Donald has had the same magical impact yet.

I have some family members impacted by the trade issues. My parents are losing some retirement benefits after an appellate court with 2 republican appt judges ruled against the union (dem appt dissented). Not sure if Trump appt either, though.

I am much more affected by the shitty state GOP.

Yes I agree. Trumps terrible Democrat trade policies have hurt the country.

Nothing noticeable. Now that we've survived both Obama and Trump, I think it's time to vote for Ted Nugent. Get this orange clown out of office and finally get this train moving.

No. Negligible impact any way both times. I prefer a trend in the socialist direction for health care and Trump was a blow to that. I'll start banging dudes and killing babies before the Supreme Court votes against it. Same old. It was entertaining and now it's exhausting.

Straight white male that makes good money. I’ll never be affected. Lucky me...

(Quite pathetic actually)

Well, let's see, me and the wife went from -$60.000 to a +$280.000 for a swing of $340.000 in our investments when Trump first got in the picture and you Dems are kicking ass to and you just won't admit it. What is it now like over 10 Trillion bucks now for Americans investments? Trumps kicking ASS !! on everything.

Other than 90% of my friends being Trumptards it hasn't affected be a bit. Been more annoying, frustrating, exacerbating than anything.......I guess it's actually impacted me :(

Yes, every second he remains in office he demeans the office of the Presidency and diminishes the United States of America in the eyes of the world. The damage being done by this charlatan of a president will take decades to repair, and some will never be.

And that is a good thing. That is why he got elected. Sorry you don't get it yet.

This clearly shows one of the biggest differences between the average Trump supporter and those who know better.

Most Trump supporters appear to think in terms of "what's best for me?".

Whereas, I and most of those opposed to Trump see it in terms of "what's best for the country as a whole?".

So, when I asked this about Obama as president, I was an "average Obama supporter", I guess. Great logic.

This makes no sense

Depends on how you answered your own question.

Did you answer that you thought the nation was better/worse off with Obama as president or did you respond in terms of your own personal well-being?

Those things are not mutually exclusive. Someone could have lost their cancer doctor due to the ACA but believe the country is in a better place than it was under Bush.

His tax cut for the wealthy made my paycheck go down, so I would say I am about 50 bucks a month worse off since then.

Definitely the state GOP has made my job a helluva lot worse with a lot of unknown now that they are in charge. If they kill IPERS which is their plan behind closed doors, it will cost me thousands and thousands of dollars at retirement. Money that I have paid into for 20 years. They want to steal it. Evil bastards.

You know I'm right.
No, no you're not. Not even in the same area code. You try to hide how awful of a person you are to people who don't agree with you with delusion that your beliefs are more important to the country. You are probably one of the most hateful and awful posters on this site.
