There are some very smart &/or funny people that frequent this board.

Let's get 2 obvious ones out of the way:
"Don't listen to message board advice."
"Do not play Deacon Hill under any circumstances, if possible."

What is your most impactful hypothetical advice to Tim Lester?

"Despite all recent evidence to the contrary, attaining first downs and touchdowns is not something you should avoid doing at all costs."

Pizza place power rankings:
#1 Pagliai's
#2 Wig & Pen
#3 Sam's
#4 Airliner
#5 Falbo Bros.

Also, play the QB that gives us the best chance to win games, not the one who looks best in practice or shows up extra extra early to the team meetings. Forget the brownie points and focus on the game-day points.

Run 50% and pass 50% on First Down.

All First Down passes should be Play Action.

Fake punt on every play.

(It worked when I used to play Bill Walsh College Football back in college)

My advice would be to work with humility and don't spend an ounce of energy trying to be the smartest guy in the room.

Basically, be the opposite of the previous OC.

Tim is a grinder, and he'll do just fine.

Play your QB1 more consistently than we have. We substituted an untried QB in our bowl game when we were down by only 35.

Play your game, KF won't fire you. KF don't fire anyone
Exactly what I was thinking. If Lester does his own thing and has success, and KF fires him for that.. Especially after putting up with his own son's incompetence, that will only make KF look like a jackass.

quit. Iowa under KF isn’t a place for OC’s who have aspirations to further their careers.

Well, Kirk’s looked like a bit of a jackass for the better part of the last two years and it doesn’t seem to have slowed him down too much.

If Lester does a good job turning the Iowa offense around he won't have to worry about being fired. His worry will be turning down offers to move on. Or staying at Iowa to vie for the HC job.

Need to extend this out to West Branch to include Herb and Lou's

Take your library card and go to the IC Public Libeary. Check out a couple of offensive strategy books from the 1960s. Pick out 4 plays, all run and get comfortable with them.
