Have we discussed Coach Prime going to Colorado?

I’m not convinced he’ll be a great pro. Don’t think he’ll be the first one to the complex, last one to leave that you need out of your QB in the NFL. Plus QB drafting is such a crapshoot these days.

Anyways, I’ll be pulling for him, just expect Hunter to have a much better career barring injury.
I have always believed it’s difficult for many QBs drafted high because they are going to crappy teams. They never have a chance.

You’re having a new experience aren’t you?
I mean usually Buff fans are able to stay stoned and not even be aware beyond smoking a bowl.
😜
I honestly have no idea what this means or how to respond except I do support weed. I do support the Buffs. And I am aware the Deion project at CU has been a lot of fun and done a lot of good for the program and university.

And sorry if your team had a bad bowl game or didnt make one, it’s not your fault, things will get better.

No doubt. It’s all about the o-line. Dak Prescott looked very good early on with a good o-line. On the flip side, if a guy is always worried about his back side or bailing on the pocket, it’s over before it started.

What you say about Colorado is true. Overall, it has been a net positive.

That said, you DO understand why fans of other teams roll their eyes at the hype and breathless promotion of a slightly above average 8-3 team that got its ass handed to it in a bowl game, right?

I mean, this “peak” Colorado is pretty much a standard Iowa football season.

Truth.

See, I don’t get this. Where is all this “breathless promotion”?

I’m in Colorado with kids at the school and I only hear a modest amount about the Buffs. The hype early last year was silly, but I’m not reading any articles anywhere proclaiming them one of the top teams in the country and haven’t for some time. Nobody was whining they should’ve gotten into the CFP or gotten a better bowl.

There is hype about Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, but justifiably so.

All the complaining sounds petty at this point.

Next year will be interesting.

On the one hand, he seems very disengaged and for sure atypical of what you want in a coach. Other than star power helping recruit, I am not sure.

On other hand he put together a decent staff and has exceeded by far my expectations his first two years, taking over a dead program and sitting on a top 25ish recruiting / portal class playing in Big 12.

I agree about next year.

As far as coaching, I think he might be onto something in this new era and maybe the “executive coach” role could fit him. I’d give him a much higher grade than “hands on” Mike Norvell and staff this year.

Yes, I do understand this and acknowledge the way Deion promotes the program and invites celebrities on field is off-putting to many.

As an Iowa and CU fan (been a season ticket holder and an alum of both schools), I basically support opposite sides of the promotional spectrum. Iowa is a hand the ball back to the ref team, CU is a dance like everybody is watching team. And for the record I’ve always preferred the former philosophy, but Deion is doing something that is working and it’s fun (and I don’t think his schtick works in the NFL as a head coach).

I’d also say this isn’t peak Colorado yet. This is year two, with a Heisman winner and a tie for conference lead. That’s pretty damn good, particularly where the program has been as of late.

I think Deion gets too much hate, but he is partly responsible for it. He’s a big talker and when big talkers stumble the haters pounce. As they should. All that to say, he has done a pretty good job up to this point in his coaching career. I mean, who would have predicted he would have any kind of success after being a talking head for years?

Maybe I’m not paying attention.. is he out there talking trash? I see some clips here and there and he’s been pretty mild this year. He doesn’t really complain, doesn’t disrespect opponents, seems to say the right things about the games. Maybe I’ve missed something?

He’s been much improved this year. Look at the hug with the BYU Coach post-game last night, nothing but love.

I am guilty of not giving Sanders the credit he deserves, but last night’s game reminded me why. BYU manhandled Colorado the entire game, yet the ESPN crew continued to fawn over Deion, Shadeur, and Hunter all game long. It was embarrassing.

This year not so much, but he’s been quoted talking trash plenty. Maybe not trash so much as just being arrogant when it’s not been warranted.

Overall, I agree.

Colorado was "dead as a doornail", and yet in year two he got them to 9 wins and a bowl game appearance. It certainly didn't hurt having the Heisman winner on your team, and having with a VERY talented QB, but nevertheless Deion should get the credit for the improvement, as he's earned it.

The big thing for me is Deion's kids who by most accounts behave like entitled, spoiled asshats.

Shedeur is talented, and he'll be drafted high, but he's both a sore winner and a sore loser, and that whole routine wears thin in the NFL.

Questioning if shitty play in a meaningless bowl game can negatively affect draft status is low information? 🤔
No, saying “that QB” is (and of course questioning whether his mediocre performance in a “meaningless” bowl game will affect his draft stock after years of film and results).
