I'll take the lil Bobs and DesmondsIt looks like they finally got the guy they wanted. Kind of smallish, but quick. No SEC offers.
Well those are nice to see!!!
Agree 100%!What I don't like is when others get mad when something happens and the fans say "we" talking about Iowa sports. What's the big deal, we are all Hawkeye fans? If talking about football it's just easier to say "We are really good this year" instead of "The Iowa football team is really good this year". But to your main point, there are quite a few things to like about Mr. McDonald, none of which sticks out a lot more than the others
End of rant
it's pathetic to try and dictate how someone speaks and to act like you know what they are trying to communicateWhen you are part of the team, i.e. players, coaches and staff you are a "we" other than that you are an observer/supporter of them.
"we played great today" oozes a pathetic need to include yourself in others success directly.
blitz.....what's that? isn't that a video game?Having a speedy LB that can blitz and play in pass coverage is key.

Abdul Hodge was short ... hell, Hodge was even "slow" in terms of straight-line speed. However, few Hawks played faster than Hodge! Similarly, Jovon Johnson was short ... and even compared to Chad Greenway he was "slow" ... but he's such a talented football player that he's still currently making a livelihood playing the sport.Good god, that film is something else. Great instincts and closes unbelievably fast. looks perfect for the S/LB combo we might see more of in the future on our defense. If he was 2 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier he'd have 50 offers. Hell of a get.

There is a whole laundry list of players who didn't have the "right" measurables ... but who played fast, played with great heart and determination, who really were quite talented ... but ultimately developed VERY favorably as a Hawk.
Even in recent history ... Kirksey was somewhat thin and lankly. Hitchens was pretty short and seemingly more of a S/RB-type ... he developed into a great LB for the Hawks too!
Thus, when I read about the height of McDonald being a possible concern ... I could care less. I just care that he wanted to be a Hawk!
Welcome aboard!
Larry was otherworldly. His production as a Hawk has few, if any, peers.Larry Station says hi.
The only problem I have with that article is Black Heart Gold Pants is trash now. Who ever took over when the original guys left and started goiowawesome was a massive downgrade...they may actually be great guys though.https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.re...en-mcdonald-georgia-north-gwinnett-linebacker
Looks like Ole Miss thought very highly of him too..
Anyone know how U of Georgia let him get away? I love it that we are taking kids away from SEC schools! This class ends up top 5 in the B1G by the end of NSD. I like our chances against Wisconsin in 18 and after that I only see one loss (if that) 11-1 will be sweet!

They didn’t offer. Georgia, Bama, Florida have dozens of 4 and 5 Star lb’s in their backyard. He would have been a fallback to them. Recruiting is so geographical. Great to get a good talent to come north! 45 degrees in January on his visit probably did us a favor!Anyone know how U of Georgia let him get away? I’m obviously a victim of when I became a fan, I’ve been a huge fan since 2002. I’ve known one coach and enjoyed multiple top ten finishes, BT titles and BCS bowl wins. Don’t tread on me.Keep working it, somebody somewhere will believe your fandom.

Excited about McDonald. Really nice pick up. Peach State kid in back to back classes. Georgia is loaded with talent. Would be good to pluck a couple every year.
Cool. I did see somewhere that he was listed at 6’2, 219lbs. He has the size to handle the WLB already.Jayden McDonald tells me he's up to 220 lbs. right now by the way.
I saw that on 247 Sports last night. Question for @Blair Sanderson or anyone that knows the answer to my question about 247 Sports. In the past I don't recall that they have listed walkons under their website, but this year they include Moss, Ragaini, Klemp and Merriweather. Why is that? Is it because in previous years our walkons haven't had stars so they weren't listed, but these guys do so they are?Cool. I did see somewhere that he was listed at 6’2, 219lbs. Ok, makes sense. ThanksMost sites only evaluate stars on scholarship athletes. Walk ons have stars assigned if rated, but most sites only list scholarship athletes when ranking a class. Hope that helps.
If you can please repost that link. Here's a cool story about the Gwinnett area... Huge talents like Alvin Kamara and Robert Nkemdeche are the level of competition this young man is used to seeing.
