New Story ***Hawkeyes land LB Jayden McDonald***

I saw that on 247 Sports last night. Question for @Blair Sanderson or anyone that knows the answer to my question about 247 Sports. In the past I don't recall that they have listed walkons under their website, but this year they include Moss, Ragaini, Klemp and Merriweather. Why is that? Is it because in previous years our walkons haven't had stars so they weren't listed, but these guys do so they are?
None of those guys are walk-ons.

Anyone know how U of Georgia let him get away? I love it that we are taking kids away from SEC schools! This class ends up top 5 in the B1G by the end of NSD. I like our chances against Wisconsin in 18 and after that I only see one loss (if that) 11-1 will be sweet!
I believe he is ranked as the 60th best recruit in GA....I think GA will be ok ;)

It’s a little pet peeve of mine but have caught myself using "we" when talking about the Hawkeyes. After I was no longer a player it just never felt right to use “we” and have always tried to refer to them as “the Hawkeyes” or they.

One of my favorite comedians Bill Burr just addressed this very thing on his podcast yesterday. He's a Patriots fan and was talking in terms of "we." He said that if he was going to get s*** from people when the Patriots lost, hence he's part of the "we" in bad times, then he's going to use "we" in good times. I'm 100% on this page. My buddies and extended family love to text me and call me all afternoon when Iowa loses just to talk trash to me like I was part of the team, so you're god damned right I'm going to be proud when WE beat Ohio State, Iowa State, Nebraska and WE win OUR bowl game. I'm sending the U of I money for the next decade for my time in Iowa City and have had season tickets several different times; why not celebrate MY team?

Fair enough. I just recall how after a game where “we” got the shit beat out of us it kind of rubbed me wrong listening to all these old, fat, gray haired men (like me now) standing around the tailgate taliking about how “we” has to play with more attitude, how “we” shouldn’t let them push us around. I was only a freshmen walk on and didn’t dress for the game but it just makes me a little aware of myself when I start using the “we” too much when talking about the Hawks, Funny I see some people always use “they” if it’s negative “they played soft” and “we” when it’s something good “we played great”.

I've felt this and said this before ... but what impresses me even more about the kids Iowa signs - aside from their athletic skills - is they simply seem like good kids ... I love that about Iowa's staff. We just sign kids who are good human beings ... For too many programs, how kids act off the field is not as important as what they can do on the field ...
