Hidlay to NC State.

Yeah, it's getting old. Doesn't seem like that hard working M* has any back up plan either. TnT will keep saying they like their guys, but the continual fall seems as if it is gonna tumble some more.

Easily 3rd or less this year, at Big 10s this year and only gonna get worse with that Michigan class and OSU and PSU not stopping...

3rd is best case scenario..5th probably more likely..

Hard work doesn’t mean anything when you don’t get results. I don’t care how hard M* is working, I will know how hard he is working when we bring in top 3 classes year after year.

Not touching PSU and tOSU with a 20 ft pole..

Michigan is the better team this year..

Minnesota damn well will be fighting for 4th..

Hell, even Rutgers will give a fight for 5th..
If there 6th in Big 10 will Brands survive that or will we see a new coach?

It won't happen. I think they finish 4th. 3rd if Lee and Warner go this year.

If they did somehow finish 6th, I'd be wanting TnT out immediately.. but thats just me..

Awesome.
When do all the "we didn't want him, tnt has a plan, he's not as good as advertised, we want guys that want to be Hawks, blah blah blah" excuse making start?
And for the record, these misses are not on Morningstar imo. He's one that clearly gets it but he can't do it alone.

Let me ask a question to those of you who might know. How much of the recruiting difficulties can be tied to not having Zadick on staff? Was he a good recruiter? People say Schwab was a great recruiter and people keep saying M* is a great recruiter (or he is working hard at it). Do you think it is a change in the mentality of the kids, the change in the money distribution, or a coaching staff that does not relate to a majority of the millennials?
Personally I love the impact and effect the Brands are having on the young kids who leave Iowa as men. I know they have not won a title for a while, but they are having an impact on the world and making a difference in the world. Neither of those are small accomplishments.

That’s all fine and dandy...but I’d rather win titles & produce good young men. They are not mutually exclusive.

Holy shit, bring out the Valium for some people here. In case you missed it Brands said we do not have much $$$ to work with. Cass is not flipping from NW for free. Hidlay seemed like an Iowa type kid but I would bet NCST had more $$$ to give and frankly with the brother there it was not an easy sell. If he is ever a 184 pounder he will be on the small side, we don't need a 174 this class. He looked a good bit shorter than Brooks. Sure he was a nice to get but if we get a 184 next year we are fine with them coming into the lineup off red shirt. If we don't have a plan after Wilke for 184 this time next year then go ahead and freak out.

Probably won’t do a home visit or even contact him.

I believe Wilcke will be at 184 after this year.
You suck, I mean, really, you suck, and I am wondering if you are as miserable as you come off.

Hard to tell from HS stuff, but I wasn't super impressed this weekend. Still would have been cool to get him, but I am not cetain he would be worth what we would have to give. Maybe the juice wasn't worth the squeeze here.

I understand that, but to me it is similar to living in a place where the weather has changed and now it is drought. You can't blame the farmer for not producing as good of a crop as the farmers who are getting water. (water is analogous to money - by the way) If it starts to rain again and still the farmer is not producing a good crop, then maybe the farmer is not so good. Maybe the farmer needs to get some new equipment or techniques or different seeds or better help. Who knows?
They are doing the best they can, I think. They are addressing their perceived weaknesses and al the while they are being honest and true. Can't hardly complain about the farmers in the Iowa field. IMHO
If the conditions are better for growing watermelons and they are still trying to grow corn, then maybe a watermelon farmer is the better option. Those are decisions that I am glad I do not have to make.

Zadick was not a recruiting wizard. I think M* is considered to be better in the area.

Didn’t do a home visit with Berge, didn’t even give Brooks a call, etc etc etc. Its a common occurrence and I’m not understanding why we aren’t going the route of an Ohio State or Penn State. They are doing nothing illegal (don’t see the NCAA knocking at their door do we?) and they are recruiting their tales off. We aren’t bringing in top 3 classes every year and have one top 50 p4p kid coming in. How do you guys find that acceptable? Mediocrity is not to be celebrated like many of you here are.
