NATO is unabashedly a cash cow for the MIC. It's an undemocratic, military-focused organization with more clout than the elected government of most members.
No, I don't know how to get rid of it when we have conflicts like the Ukraine War, but we absolutely should be trying to create a world where we don't need NATO. It seemed like we were heading that way for a while, but there's always a war around that can be trumped up to justify its continued existence.

Same argument about cutting spending or increasing taxes. If one thinks the government is spending too much, then why don't they just decline government-funded programs? If one thinks the government should raise taxes, they why don't they just give the government more money? Utterly invalid arguments either way.
My son was deployed to Poland near the Lithuanian border specifically to be part of NATO's defense of that area of Europe. I was proud he was there. We visited him there and spent a week with him in Lithuania, becoming very well acquainted with how fragile and important their safety is.
