I used to love this time of year... only college basketball is on, march madness... but I barely watch now. I always have it on but just background noise because its always the same... depressingly bad basketball, cant even get an easy win against a bad washington team. Fran's not gonna get fired, lets be real, only way he's gone is if he wants to leave. Can it be fixed while Fran is still here?
How do we fix this team?

Firing Fran is the first step. Then force half to 3/4ths of this team to transfer out.
I am a devout fan for 65+years and I cannot watch another year of McCaffery BBall so I sincerely hope he is gone next year.
You can not fix this. This team has no frame left to build on.
Fran has to be go...even if he got back on track next year, that is only 10-10 in B1G, 1st game loss in BTT, DOA in NCAA tourney...meh, really not that much more exciting than this year's bottom feeder team.
Have to bring in a new coach and clean house.
Brock Harding is not a Starting PG on a good team. He can play backup.
Whether Dix and Freeman come back is big question
Pryce should be back.
Supposedly foreign born atheletes not eligible for NIL. Try to keep Dimbele, Trarore, Tadjo as they cost nothing in NIL and they have potential to make a jump in skill level. At least they are physically strong guys, an Tadjo and Trarore are very athetic.
New Coach has to spend NIL wisely, bring in some of his own guys. I like Drake coach, especially if he can bring his best player from Drake. Sounds like a young, hungry guy. Fran is neither of those things.

The fix is by starting from scratch with a new head coach.
Freeman is almost certainly gone. Dix could get a good payday elsewhere, not much incentive for him to stick around. Outside of those 2 a total roster turnover would not be a bad thing.
New coach brings 3-4 guys with him. Then hits the portal hard. Any of a number of younger coaches at smaller schools who have had some success could fit that description.

I am 77 years old, so you should again have saved your two cents. Actually, been listening to and following Hawkeyes since 1957ish. Any more wise comments?
