An attempt to compare the fall of the Weimar Republic and the current US situation is absurd.
All facets of German society disliked the Weimar Republic primarily because of the stab in the back theory, and the 12 years of its existence proved that to be true. From the outset the left and right attacked Weimar, extremism in some form would topple that government when the fundamental changes started in 1930. This was not a six-month change; it was the country's desire to right what they felt was wrongfully done to them, Hitler and the Nazis just happened to be the ones that capitalized on what many in the country wanted.

Trump was already President for 4 years and no such dictatorship prevailed. What did prevail was one of the greatest economic growth periods in modern day history.
