How will Trump bring down the cost of groceries?

Good points all and with Elon at hand, (a guy who seems interested in high-tech logistics) who knows what is possible.
Elno has nothing to do with this.

Elno could have built "hyperloop transport systems" years ago.
He did not, because all he wanted to do was prevent the rail system in CA from being built.

Start learning how to cook, gents. Hungry Men's and Hormel Chili is gunna get more expensive to have every night.

In any case I am paying $4.57 or so for 91 octane
My Mini takes premium

It's $3.42 at Costco out here, and $3.37 at one of the grocery store stations.
You might just wanna learn about GasBuddy....

I can’t access the article.

Who is the “they” constraining inflation? So, government mandates what price various food items can be sold at?
Subscribe to Bloomberg and you'll be able to read the article - the retailers and the French government are working together. If there was more of that here then the egg and tuna price fixing and related lawsuits would never have happened:

Isn’t the cost of eggs mostly due to the avian flu that has forced farmers to cull millions of chickens?

Sounds to me like the solution is to bring in more Haitian immigrants to eat the migratory geese and slow the spread of the disease.

Exactly. People like TJ fell hook, line, and sinker for Trump's bullshit about lowering grocery prices. He or they don't have an answer. It's just something the Dems did.

@Titus Andronicus lives in Vegas. Of course their prices are high. It's f'ing Vegas
Actually, we receive gasoline through the California ports and refineries; gasoline that is subject to California rules, taxes, fees, and regulations ... as well as that ever so Californian belief in a green economy and their misguided attempts at promoting the same.

GasBuddy shows Premium from $3.79 to $4 all over the Vegas area, FWIW
One station says $3.55

There are some price variances by brand. but Chevron is considered the premium brand around here. They have refineries in Richmond and in El Segundo. We are likely getting product from El Segundo. Supposedly, with their package of additives, Chevron offers the cleanest burning gas in the state. I know I have never had an issue with Chevron ... no engine pinging, engine sluggishness, or misfires or any of that stuff ... Nor have I ever had to replace any fuel injectors, or O2 sensors or catalytic converters or any of the stuff that low grade gas would shorten the life of, so I continue to be loyal.

I bought gas earlier today and paid $4.37 at Chevron. I admit to seeing signs at a couple of the independent stations for as low as $3.87.

JFC, you're a moron. So you'll bitch about high gas prices but admit you only fill up at Chevron? Shop around, it's what makes the free market such a great thing. Try to stay in your lane and stick to the random 3AM post.

“The cost of eggs” was obviously the #1 issue for most voting Americans, and for some reason, they seem to believe Trump has a plan to fix it.

What is that plan?

I heard very few details from either candidate on how they would actually bring groceries prices down to pre-pandemic levels. Is it even possible anymore? What’s the incentive for producers to lower prices?

There’s about 10 companies that make everything (Pepsico, Coke, P&G, Kraft Heinz, etc.) The only path I see to bringing down prices is more competition (through antitrust) and cracking down on collusion.

So what’s Trump concept of a plan? How is he going to make groceries affordable again?
Energy, you idiot. Shipping costs will go down when fuel costs go down.

Have you had to adjust your shopping for lobster as well, or do you just buy whatever is handy?

If you are paying more than $3/gallon for gas in about 45 out of 50 states right now, you are the problem.

This is an odd comment ... but you had it handy, so I assume you hear it from time to time.

How do you spend each month in imbedded interest for auto loans/lease payments?

Is it more than you spend on gasoline? That might make YOU a problem.

The cost of various grocery items will continue to fluctuate like they always have based on individual supply and demand issues,... But a general, across the board, drop in all grocery prices isn't going to happen without negative inflation, and we don't want to go there,.. Only solution at this point is slow and sustained wage growth, with consistent low inflation,... So the answer to OP's question is,... He won't.

The break even for new oil and gas wells is about $60 per barrel. WTI is currently at $68 per barrel.

There is no appetite for drastically increasing oil production at current prices.
It never fails to crack me up hearing Trumpty Numpties explaining how America will be energy independent by increasing oil production as though it’s a government commodity that they control. I guess in their hearts they yearn to be socialist or communist. They understand the notion of tariffs at about the same level.

he will stop it from going much much higher

something biden or harris would not be able to do
Oh so now you’re moving the goalposts before the game even starts, how predictable. It should be pretty easy for Trump to claim he stopped prices from rising in an economic environment where prices are actually falling right now. WTF?!!! Just how dumb are you?!!!

Obviously s/he's not smart enough to use apostrophe's correctly if post #73 is any indication.

My car has been paid off for years. Drives just fine on 87 octane. You're just a dipshit who over pays for gas and blames the Dems. Shop around dummy
