How's Keegan Doing?

I watched the entire game. Keegan came out firing, then rested some in 2nd qtr.
He does not take bad shots.
Do fans expect him to take 40 shots?
Fox takes a few bad ones no doubt but not like anyone else was just jacking.
Barnes, Ellis Sabonis all shot ok.
Without monk out there shot selection is better and ball moves well.
20 shots for Keegan is plenty with his efficiency.

I just find in interesting that Keegan was on fire in the 1st quarter and took 10 shots (he made 5, including 4 three pointers, for 14 points) and then only had 10 shots the rest of the game.

The breakdown by Quarter:

..............From 3...From 2...Overall
1st Qtr.....4-7......1-3......5-10
2nd Qtr...0-1.....0-1........0-2
3rd Qtr....2-2......1-3.......3-5
4th Qtr...2-3.....0-0.......2-3
..............................................
Totals:...8-13......2-7.....10-20
...........(62%)...(29%)...(50%)

He was also 4-4 (100%) from the FT line to get to his 32 points.

He lost over 20 lbs this year and has been playing well.

He was the #1 overall pick in the June, 2019 NBA Draft.

It took this season (his 5th) before Zion started getting serious about his weight issue.

This is the 2nd year in a row where his season ends with a hamstring injury.

Look at all of the games missed and all of the lower body injuries over the last 5 seasons due to his weight:

Season.......Games Played (issue)
2019-2020....24 of 72 (torn meniscus)
2020-2021:....61 of 72 (thumb ailment)
2021-2022:......0 of 82 (foot injury)

2022-2023:....29 of 82 (nagging foot ailment & hamstring strain; his last game was on Jan 2, 2023; also missed the first round of the Play-In Tournament--OKC defeated the Pelicans, bringing a quick end to their season)

2023-2024:....70 of 82 (missed the 8 seed game vs Sacramento of the Play-In Tournament because of a hamstring strain)
.............................................
.....................184 of 390 (Zion has only played in 47% of the regular season games over the last 5 seasons)

Probably won't matter if he plays or not. Pels own the Kings.

They do and even without Zion the Pels are a tough matchup for the Kings. That being said, I think the Kings win. The way they are playing defense is different now.

New Orleans won all 5 games against the Kings during the regular season, with Zion only missing the Jan 7th game in Sacramento. The Pelicans won that game 133-100, with CJ McCollum scoring a game-high 30 points.

After 3 qtrs, the Pelicans lead 83-74.

The Kings have missed 7 FTs (11-18) and are 9-29 (31%) from 3.

Keegan is 1-6 (17%) from 3 and 3-10 (30%) overall. He's 1-2 from the FT line

Yeah, the Kings are one-dimensional. They rely heavily on the 3, and don't do well against length and athleticism. They throw Valanciunas and Nance Jr at Sabonis. Looking forward to see who Monte McNair adds in the off-season.

OKC has been resting up since Sunday. Now New Orleans travels there for a game on Sunday at 8:30 pm CT (OKC is an 8.5 pt favorite).
Was hoping the Kings had the Lakers instead of NO. Sabonis has owned AD, and the Kings won the series. Yeah, I think OKC has the advantage with SGA. Not sure how Holmgren will match up vs Valanciunis.
