How's Keegan Doing?

Kings fans brought it last nite.
Reporters apple watch kept notifying him the noise was dangerously high.
GS is unconcerned as a team that has made the Finals 6 of last 8 years.
But this could force a 6 or 7 game
series...not great in a war of attrition.
Makem sweat Kings!

I missed most of the 1st half last night. I did see KM's only basket so there is that.

Question- It appeared that KM was not a part of the game plan in the 2nd half. Was it the same in the first half?

I’m an OG Kings fan from my observations Mike Brown sticks with whoever is having the hot hand. Last night was a De’Aaron Fox/ Malik Monk kind of night, also it seems like they went with the better defenders most of the game. Nothing against KM but he was getting crossed up left and right in the first half and was missing shots. Malik Monk is a streaky player and comes off the bench, vs the clippers earlier this year he dropped 45pts.

Game plan is probably not the right term for a role player.

The game plan is Fox and Sabonis.

Everything else is fluid based on how the game is going. Keegan and Lyles are kind of interchangeable. Ones a better shooter the other a more athletic defender.

Keegans role is to hit shots as they come based on how the defense reacts to the stars and play defense. He wasn't doing either. Lyles was.

He'll have some good games in the playoffs too

Unfortunately, Keegan has had a number of games like last night where his shot deserts him. He was getting open looks. He always bounces back, but sometimes these mini-slumps last several games. Hopefully, he can be a difference maker in this series, or it may be the King's demise for the year. That would be a shame as the King's fans (who were great last night) love him.

He's a rookie, he's having a really good rookie season. He's just going to get better, and more consistent.

The playoffs are a completely different animal and it was not just Keegan who was shooting poorly through almost 3 quarters of the game.

Some points from the ESPN article linked at the end of this post:

* The very loud, excited crowd appeared to take a toll on the inexperienced Kings, who struggled shooting the ball early. Sacramento shot just 39.2% in the first half and trailed Golden State 61-55 at the half.

* Sacramento starters missed their first 15 attempts from 3-point range before Fox hit one late in the third quarter.

* The Warriors built the lead to 10 points in the third quarter before Sacramento ended the quarter on a 15-4 run fueled by 10 points from Trey Lyles to take a 91-90 lead into the fourth.

* Fox scored 29 of his 38 points in the second half after taking time to adjust to the playoff physicality.

Should have taken the shot instead of dishing it off under the basket. If Keegan continues to have trouble getting open on the perimeter his minutes are going to be small. GS’s defending him well
The way the warriors are basically not defending Sabonis on the perimeter is fvcking with their dribble hand off game and that's where Keegan gets a lot of his shots.
