Hundreds feared dead in strike on Gaza hospital

Based on your response you don't like Israel and haven't for a very long time. So at this point Israel will never be able to do something right in your eyes, they'll only be able to do bad things. You will continue to look for the negatives of anything Israel does no matter what hamas does. I can tell that you wouldn't lose an ounce of sleep if every Jew was killed by hamas.
That seems kinda harsh. 🙁

And you're just another person who doesn't like Jewish people. There's no other explanation for how you can come to the conclusions you've come to. What really sucks is that there are a lot of people like you in the world.
That seems like a rational response to me posting an article about why there were so many people in the hospital parking log.
You don't seem unhinged at all.

That was more of a response to all your emojis that you've put on my posts.

Perhaps if the laughing emojis upset you you should try not coming off as so unhinged.
Or you know, accuse everyone of hating jews. Either way.

That's you're problem, you view Jews at the same level as hamas. I think you just proved my point about how you feel about Jews.
Jesus you're a deranged dumbass.
I view dead civilians as the same. I think both sides should stop killing them.
I think the Israeli govt is stupid, but that has nothing to do with jews.
I think the Iranian govt is stupid, but that has nothing to do with muslims.
I think the Russian govt is stupid, but that has nothing to do with russian orthodoxy.
I think Nicaragua's govt is stupid, but that has nothing to do with catholics/christians.

Balem is a good example of what being a partisan dumbass does to your brain.

But both sides..
Both sides. Same stuff we see from idiots on the right.

@SB_SB

I don't think this is jew hating. At least by western progressive sorts like Balem and etc.

Basically... they feel the need to be on team Palestine, and feel pressure to equivocate by their political peers. They can't condemn the actions of Palestine supporters -- even terrorists -- without pointing out Israel is also bad. (usually in the same way) Which leads them to these idiot positions. Or being unable to come out and clearly call out terrorism for what it is, in more extreme instances. (see college kids on campus)

Jew haters do exist... they're mostly various arabs, neonazis, and perhaps a few western political extremists.

What you're see with people like cig is the old saying, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". Cig has a problem with Jews for some reason and so he's now "friends" with hamas. There's no way he'll ever be able to get past his dislike for Jews in order to understand what you're saying.
That's not the issue. His stance has merit. How is Israel taking land to the north from the Palestinians any different than what Putin is trying to do with Ukraine? There isn't so we can look at Israel's leader with extreme skepticism. Has those actions possible caused the conflict today. Absolutely, no one can deny that. However in the same breath, I am not sure that Hamas would still not try to attack Israel as they do not see Israel as legitimate. What Hamas did was unjust, and there is full expectation that Israel would go after the perpetrators. Hamas are hiding behind civilian targets which is a bullshit move as well. In general, both are bad actors, with Hamas being worse and the US being forced to support Israel full stop. Now things were improving with Saudi Arabia giving Israel more legitimacy in the arab world. This attack stopped that progress. The worry is whether this is just a 1 off or was intended to cascade into more. I think Russia is very much encouraging this through Iran. The next question is does China start to ramp up aggression on Taiwan. Effectively creating the early stages of a world war. If they did though they would get squashed quickly.

ok, so you and cig admit you don't like the Israeli government. You have a problem with them so you're critical of anything they do. Even if they didn't do something wrong (like the hospital bombing) you just switch to something else to be critical for. Just look at the governments that you compared Israel to, Iran and Russia are considered our enemies and you lumped Israel into that group. Remember when I said the "enemy of my enemy is my friend", well you just proved it. You are friends with hamas because they're the enemy of Israel.

So if you notice they both agreed with your post. If we want to talk about what Israel is doing in the north that's a different subject. What's happening is the south is totally different. These two posters do not like Israel (they've already stated that) and so they're ok with what's happening in the south (hamas starting a war).

Really, all balem @cigaretteman need to do is clearly state that Hamas targeting, killing and rejoicing over the killing of civilians is obviously a much worse moral crime than Israel targeting Hamas and killing civilians accidentally in the process.

If you can't do that you're A) Intellectually dishonest or B) have a broken moral compass.

It is not a different subject and for you to ignore their injustice as potentially instigating this is incredibly naive. You are giving Israel a carte blanche get out of free card for what ever they do, and then giving full vindication against Palastine and Hamas. Hamas is crap, I am not defending them. That I can understand Cigarettean and Belem's point of view as there is solid reasoning to support it, is not difficult.

Based on your stance if you were to equate it to January 6th I would assume then you think all perpetrators should be arrested, tried and and sent to jail. Or do you think republicans have justifications for their actions. I see no justifications for January 6th or the fake electors gambit - absolutely none. There is nothing to support anything other than Trump was a a sore loser. The Israel situation is a little more gray and the fact you don't see it is concerning.

So that’s the argument of the antisemites now? That they don’t like the Israeli government and it has nothing to do with it being Jewish? Lol. And I’m sure the civil war was over states rights and not slavery too now.

What they really feel is the need to be on any team other than Israel. They'll even be on the team of a terrorist rather than team Israel. That says a lot about them and what they believe.

You would be surprised how many people dislike Jews. I happen to be Catholic but have a number of Jewish friends. It wasn't too long ago that a group of us were together (and somehow religion came up) and one person (non-Jewish) in the group turned to one of the Jewish people and said "I normally don't like Jews but I like you". Funny thing is they actually thought they were giving the Jewish person a compliment. And that's not the first time I've heard statements like that. While the real haters (willing to kill) may be in the groups you mentioned, there are quite a few "dislikers" around.

Could be, I don’t know.

It seems more likely to me that they’re falling victim to a social media disinformation and propaganda campaign like a lot of our brightest did when they were convinced that Dems were trafficking kids through the basement of a pizza place in DC

If hamas feels they're justified in attacking Israel then that's up to them to decide. I think what they did was an act or war so they shouldn't be too surprised when Israel fights back.

I'm not sure where you're going with the Jan 6th thing, that makes no sense. Are you thinking I'm a supporter of Jan 6th? FYI, I've voted Liberal in the last two elections. Lock all of them up including trump! I don't get why some of my fellow Liberals are making this political. Politics has nothing to do with this. This is about hamas starting a war with Israel and Israel defending itself.

Sure, sure....

Or, and hear me out, some Jews could not approve of the Israeli govt because of personal morals and ethics. Just like some non-Jews.

There were stances where it appeared you were more on the conservatives stance. No this isn't political, however, many people tend to rationalize certain issues then be completely unwilling to give the same rationalization for something else. Hamas is not justified in what they are doing. As a people the palestineans have been treated to extreme set of rules/regulations and have had land and rights taken away from them by Israel. That even a bad actor is going to try to fight back is not surprising.

I’m at a point now where I believe we should question all wars and military action. Is it warranted, justified, proportionate, etc.

Hamas is shit and started this recent mess. The brutality was unacceptable IMO. But asking what’s Israel’s plan going forward and questioning the military operation is legitimate. Being concerned about regional or worldwide escalation is legitimate. Wondering about the future of thousands upon thousands of non-combatants is legitimate.

I find it interesting that you tried to discredit my viewpoint by labeling me as conservative. You tried to use Jan 6th (in some wild ass way) to discredit my opinion. That was really odd.

Israel have rules and regulation on hamas because they're a terrorist organization. We create rules and regulations the same way for Iran and other countries. When 911 happened, I'm sure the people who did it had many different reasons (and good reasons in their heads) for declaring war on us. Did that stop us from invading other countries. We did what we needed to do because of the terrorists and Israel is do the same thing.

If you go back to post 259, Colonoscopy mentioned both posters and said they just had to admit that what hamas did was worse than what Israel is doing. If you notice there's crickets for that post. Neither one responded and they won't respond because they won't say hamas is worse than Israel. Let's see if they ever respond to that post.

Absolutely we need to know the strategy going forward because we need to know how much the U.S. will need to get involved. That's why Biden made the trip to Israel. At some point Israel may have to go it alone if they want to take it further than what the U.S. is willing to go. That's on Israel to decide. When the U.S. decided to invade after 911, I'm sure we had countries trying to talk us out of it. But we did what we needed to do. But that didn't put us at the same level as the terrorist that did 911, just like Israel fighting back against hamas doesn't put both of them on the same level. Israel is at the same level as the U.S., while hamas is at the same level as countries like Iran.

Personally, I don’t want the U.S. to be involved any more than we are involved in Ukraine. I suppose we could consider increasing financial and arms support, but no troops. This is a forever war and we shouldn’t be directly in the middle of it.

I doubt you will find anyone on this board who actually disagrees with this statement. Who isn't questioning the military operation from Israel? Who isn't concerned about innocent civilian lives and worldwide escalation? We all are but it's the Palestinians who chose war. It's the Palestinians who have brainwashed generations of children into thinking they must hate and kill Jews, revere martyrs, and aspire to jihad. It's the Palestinians who have no interest in a two-state solution.

You can be concerned about all of the things you mentioned and still see that one side is inherently better than the other when it comes to valuing human life and the overall betterment of the world.

We have a handful of posters on here who happily ate up the Hamas propaganda yesterday even when we knew beforehand that using hospitals was a common tactic for them to gain sympathy from the west. These same posters are the ones who won't believe the stories of atrocity against the Israelis without proof. Everything is political with them and what's even scarier is these posters feel as if they have some sort of moral high ground on the rest of us. Again, it's insanity.

But you keep coming up with reasons why we all hate the jews.
Which is ironic as the people who are most in love with Israel seem to dislike Jews in general.

There have been a ton of turn Gaza into a parking lot, we’d end it quickly, push em into the ocean-type posts.

I’m concerned because I don’t see any good ideas from anyone (including Israel) about how Israel plans to manage the war or the afterwards.
