Kirk went with JakeC for far too long when it was apparent he was throwing half his passes in the dirt, etc. Even after the bad 2007 passing season he stayed with Jake for half of the first half of the 2008 season. Even at Pitt that year when RickyS looked like much the better qb Kirk put Jake back in for the 2nd half and went with him to an unneeded loss.

C'mon Kirk, you saw Joey L do a decent job in his only start. He threw the ball pretty well, he didnt make big blunders, he helped give the hawks a bowl victory. You have tape on him playing in a big P5 game. Let him be #1.

Deacon looked decent in his first drive but I suspect many of those plays were scripted and practiced a lot. Once the 2nd qtr started and the scripting was over Hill just didnt get it close to done.

Deacon might get better for next year or even later this year, but as most coaches do sit Hill, let him reflect and watch the action, try Labas or Lainez.

I forgot to add that in 2007 and early 2008 I was wishing and posting that Kirk would have taken an NFL job.

Stanzi and JC split time for 4 games in 2008, not 1/2 the season. Hawks we 3-1. Stanzi was named full time QB for game 5 and the Hawks promptly lost two in a row.

Stanzi admitted he wasn't serious about football in 2007 as a true freshman. So it's understandable that he needed to earn the coaches trust in 2008.

Kirk wouldn't recognize a QB that needs to be replaced if it hit him in the face. The JC example is good; the other game at Pitt in 2014 in which C.J. came off the bench and supercharged a struggling offense, only to be replaced when Rudock got healthy (and offense sucked again) is even better. It's only gotten worse as he's gotten older and the Alzheimer's has progressed. There is simply no hope for the offense while KF remains in charge - NONE.

Deacon is like 37% completions for 4 TDs with 3 picks 2 fumbles and 427 yards. Jake would be a savior for us this year. Kirk is absolutely just trying to make it through the season… no way he believes his offense isn’t dog crap…

Given the offense is dead last in CFB, what’s the downside to letting other QBs play a series or two?

Kirk obviously does not value the ball by continuing to play Hill.

His words don’t match his actions.

“We value the ball”

Starter turns it over three times, then continues to start him.

Petras threw 4 INTs, started the very next game.

KF treats the fan base like we're idiots. Pretty much always has, but has gotten worse as he's gotten older and the dementia has progressed, and he's gotten particularly testy about criticism of the offense since he put his boy in charge and the wheels have completely fallen off. The program is just in a horrible position right now. The only fix is for KF to willingly walk away.

Hey 2009 was pretty cool
