I am covid positive!

I'll admit I enjoy razz'n Brian over the Covid vax, but what exactly were the lies?

THE LIE that I was forced to parrot to our employees was this:

"If you get the vaccine, you can't get COVID and you won't spread COVID.

Protect your nursing home residents by getting the shot.

Oh, and if you refuse, you're fired. Don't sue us, sue the CDC and CMS."

The "can't get it, won't spread it" was a total lie, everybody knew it, and the government ENFORCED it against healthcare workers anyway.

Absolutely disgusting and I am sad I had to play a part in spreading it.

Hopefully it doesn't lead to long covid.

My cousin's wife had long covid so bad she had to quit her job as a teacher.
I highly doubt it. Not seeing this anymore for at least two years, just anecdotal observation. Not saying it’s not possible, but let’s just say you likely have many other things more worthy of worries.

I got covid 2 years ago and had a metallic taste in my mouth for 18 months. :(

was that a lie or something that turned out to false as further information became available?
Protect your nursing home residents by getting the shot.
Even in hindsight I still agree with this one.

That's a lie or policy you disagree with?

When did we "know" this was a "lie"? I recall most of the world being pretty ignorant at the time. I remember wiping down groceries in my garage thinking, man this sucks, but I'll do whatever it takes.

How do YOU define a lie?

What vacines did they get ? Before my time and I am not going to research it. Long covid due to covid shot. Proven fact. The great rise in retarded children due to dozens of shots required today. 1940's who knows what they did.
Zero when they popped out of the womb. Back then the only vaccines were DTP , Polio, and Smallpox. Conditions like Down syndrome, genetic disorders, and birth complications were well-documented long before vaccines were widespread. I'm pretty sure Jesus himself walked among the mentally handicapped and I don't think the gospels speak to any vaccine mandates under Caesar.

And to my favorite assertion. Long COVID occurs in people who have had COVID, not just those vaccinated. No legitimate study has proven that the COVID vaccine causes long COVID.

EVERYONE knew that vaccinated people were still getting and spreading COVID. The Biden Administration dragged their feet in acknowledging that, and didn't end the healthcare workers' vaccination requirement until August of 2023.

So you're talking about much later on; not so much an assertion of lies at the onset of the vaccine release, but rather denial/apathy in dialing back the "stop the spread" messaging after the different variants proved to be boogers that didn't really care about the vax.

Yeah, and I had to enforce their bullshit.

Symptoms first presented on a Wednesday night. Went to urgent care on Friday morning. Started Tamaflu Friday afternoon. Started feeling better on Sunday. Totally over it about a week later.
I've only been sick 3x since this whole C19 thing started:

I'll rank them by severity (and I was 100% WFH):

Flu B (Jan 24) - 11 Days. Had to take 3 days of sick leave, kicked my arse.
COVID-19 (Jun 22) 5 Days. First two were the worst thinking I had strep...after that I was just fatigued (not tired). Took zero sick days and just worked through it, albeit my bout did traverse a weekend, so I binged FireFly and Serenity.
Flu A (Nov 24) - 3 Days. Pretty easy to navigate. Zero sick days.

Even if the vaccines are only 40-50% effective, you're protecting your nursing home residents by getting one.

Literally why Covid and flu vaccines are required in most hospital settings during winter.

I likely caught covid on Tuesday, March 4.

When do you think I'll test negative?

Flu b has been way tougher on me and my kids than COVID.

Fun Fact: When Mrs. Alaska and I took the home rapid tests, both came back negative. When we took the urgent care rapids, both negative as well. Only the PCR test showed we were positive.

I'll take one covid test each day. My friend gave me a bunch. They expired on August of 2023 but two already show I'm covid positive.

When do you think I'll be covid negative?

I'm hoping by Wednesday. A doctor told me it could be weeks longer. 😞
