I guess I don't know the definition of ambush. Capitol Police Sued for $30 Million for ‘Ambush Murder’ of Ashli Babbitt

This is so puzzling - I feel like I'm being trolled. She was shot and killed. Rocky lamented there should have been dozens more just like her. You responded: "Why do believe that didn't happen?" If you are leaving out the shot and killed part, which is the crux of the lawsuit, there were thousands of insurrectionists that day, so that would make no sense at all.

Everyone here gets that except one person.
I am genuinely intrigued as to what ambiguities are at play here.

She was shot and killed breaking through a window. It has been summarized: "Babbitt attempted to climb through a shattered window beside a barricaded door into the Speaker's Lobby, and was shot in the left shoulder by a United States Capitol Police (USCP) officer. After a USCP emergency response team administered aid, Babbitt was transported to Washington Hospital Center, where she died."

Rocky posted: "My only complaint is there should’ve been dozens more just like her."

Obviously, he was not complaining that not enough people were breaking through the window and storming the Capitol. He was facetiously complaining that dozens of people storming the Capitol should have been shot and killed, or perhaps not facetiously complaining that dozens more should have been shot.

You responded with: "Why do believe that didn't happen?"

What did you mean by that statement?

A person can file a lawsuit without guilt being established. And you can be found liable without being convicted of a crime.
When a death occurs caused by someone else, there's a good chance a lawsuit may follow.
So why aren't those sleazebags suing trump?

I think @NorthernHawkeye isn’t asserting that dozens were killed and their deaths hidden, but rather asking why only 1 person was shot and not dozens?
Because only 1 person breached the barricaded door to the chamber while active members of Congress were still inside.

That officer did EXACTLY what he was supposed to do. They barricaded and showed restraint until the breach. And didn’t fire more than was necessary.

If others continued behind her, they would have been shot at as well… 100% justifiably so.

The officer that fired was on one side of the door while she was on the other. I don’t think the door was breached. She was closest,

I've been both the ambusher and the ambushee. She was not ambushed, she FAFO.

A better analogy would be beating on the door of the good guys, whose house you have surrounded, and screaming that you're breaking down the door if they don't let you in and killing them.

Oh, wait, that's not an analogy, that's what happened.

That’s the same logic libs used on why nobody else got shot during the Kenosha riots . Except by Rittenhouse. Circumstances dictated the outcomes. Cops outside were trying to maintain a line. While the person inside who took the shoot had the responsibility of being the last line between rioters and the VIPs they were protecting.

Yikes!

I took his response to mean that the reason it didn't happen is because Jan 6th was a nothing burger...just folks walking around calmly enjoying a typical day at the Nation's Capital and that's why no one else was shot.

The window was breached. She was attempting to crawl through it.
I thought the window had bars on it. Could be wrong.
It was a window in a door. They broke the glass out and that's when a single shot was fired and she was the one who got hit. Definitely FAFO.

Nice try. I've repeatedly condemned the events of that day.

As was explained, she was climbing into the room.

In the video you can see the police sit there for quite awhile with guns drawn and pointed at the door. They did not shoot until she began entering.

Apple/tree

A brother of rioter Ashli Babbitt, who was fatally shot while participating in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, has been convicted of a hate crime for hurling racial slurs and assaulting a Latino SDG&E worker in Point Loma.

Ocean Beach resident Roger Stefan Witthoeft Jr., 34, has been convicted of misdemeanor battery with a hate crime allegation and violating the victim’s civil rights in the Sept. 14, 2021, attack on the traffic controller.

During the assault, Witthoeft approached an SDG&E worker who was diverting traffic near the intersection of Mendocino Boulevard and Voltaire Street, according to the City Attorney’s office. After slapping the worker, Witthoeft told the victim to "talk in English you (expletive) immigrant" and to "go back to your country."

This is just my opinion and I'm not an expert.

I can think of a few reasons.
Politically motivated - targeting the other side.
The plaintiff needs to find a lawyer willing to take on the case. If they think time is better spent on another case, that may prevent the lawyer from agreeing.
If a lawyer is willing to take on the case, the plaintiff may be required to pay. not all cases are structured for payment only from an award.

No need to respond to this because you responded to my other. Your time is far too valuable. ;)

Yup. I was at home minding my own business. Pretty easy to not get shot that way. The day I finally sign off from HROT will be the day my information intake looks like this:
