What's funny is that the only thing that happened was four cyber trucks caught on fire in a storage area in SODO. They were waiting to be delivered and the police are still investigating why the trucks were on fire. While it may have been vandalism nothing has been confirmed.

I get what you are saying but I'm not sure I agree with everything you are implying. For instance, government dollars on research, government dollars on agencies that create goodwill with other countries and increase our markets, government dollars on monitoring the environment, government dollars making sure airplanes don't run into each other are part of running the country and, as we are finding out, completely necessary.
Government dollars to bail out banks and subsidize businesses that don't need the subsidies who then promptly take that money and buy back their own shares....I can get on board with you with that.
Agree. Investments have different values and should be treated as such. Make no mistake, Donald Trump owns a portion of what we are discussing (though I thought we were in another thread) the government sent out WAY to much money during covid and we are finally starting to see how soft that landing is going to be.
uh....Covid money has been long gone. I'm not sure how you can even include that now. At least that money served a purpose of helping to keep people from being thrown out of their homes when they couldn't work. The market was doing just fine until Trump decided to declare a trade war with every other country on the planet and cut hundreds of thousands of necessary jobs. Not to mention just taking money and not allocating it, just because.
How you can even begin to attribute the current mess to anything other than Trump intentionally crashing the train is beyond me. He 100% owns this and this is 100% on him and his decisions since January 20. No one or nothing else. We didn't have to have this happen but he chose to make it happen.
And neither him or Elon have explained what they hope to accomplish with this. They just said that they are going to do a lot of things to make people's lives shitty, people voted for them anyway, and now they are making people's lives shitty. They never explained what their endgame was.
"Covid money" is not long gone, people delayed the shit out of their problems. Debt has been on the rise for years.
What you are seeing, is a bunch of rich people that had fluffed the market, the type that can donate 1.4 billion in 100 days, pulling a bunch of funny money out.

Seriously? Now you think this crash is because of spending habits? Trump promised markets would go up and up and up despite the fact that many consumers have a crushing debt load.
Allow me to beat my chest just a little in response. I, and several others, were on here loudly explaining that is not how the market would react to Trump’s tariffs. As I have said repeatedly for months, markets hate trade wars. They are not predictable.
And unfortunately this goes well beyond the S&P500. The actual economy will fare even worse.
Buckle up, the turbulence will be wild. I expect the market to be hopping all over the place for quite some time, but with a downward trajectory overall.
