Iowa
Malik Williams committed to Louisville and Pitino for two years max. He will be in the NBA draft in less than three years ( 1 HS year, 1 to 2 years at Louisville. Louisville's YUM! arena is one of the nation's best arenas and Louisville in the toughest basketball conference (sorry Hawk fans but it's true, the ACC with Duke, UNC, Syracuse and Louisville are ANAKIM (Biblical reference to race of giants- think Goliath) .

I betting Luke Garza also stays east of the Mississippi as Louisville is still looking for bigs and MW is more of a Kevin Love/Kevin Durant big. I hate being right on this kind of news but Iowa really needs to focus on Midwest urban kids as East coast kids have many options and want to play near their parents.

You want a prize?

Hawkeye Dude, don't break your arm patting yourself on the back.
Since when is Ft. Wayne, Indiana an east coast city ?
I'd let Fran, our coach, decide who and where he wants to recruit .
You sound like you are a really smartass 17 year old.

Lute Olson used to say he always recriuted the mom. At 6'5", silver-haired and silver-tongued, it worked for him.

Well, there a quite a few schools besides Iowa that didn't get Williams. That's the nature of recruiting. Surprises me though that he went from taking his time to deciding so quick.

Right after Williams committed to the Ville, I thought that TheHawkeyeDudeAbides is the gosh darn man. Wow, you are unbelievable. Who is the man? TheHawkeyeDudeAbides is the man.

Wasn't Williams from Indiana?
I think he was originally from Illinois or Indiana before transferring to La Lumiere. Some of these destination BBall schools attract players from all over. An Australian player we are interested in (Epperson), will be there next year.

So someone said Fran should concentrate on midwest guys, Illinois and Indiana are midwest.

I believe I shifted gears well enough when I started a second paragraph about DC area (East Coast) recruit Luke Garza and opined about the Iowa's staff futility recruiting the East Coast for top MBB Players. But I guess I should have held the little hands for the less well read (my bad).

seer_hawk.... the guy you are describing sounds like ILLANNOY Commitment Jeremiah Tilmon.

Living in Chicagoland, I know my geography. I don't consider Ohio Midwest by its culture but will include it, Pennsylvania .... East Coast.

For the FU haters like thomesG Heuy....I say "Right turn, Clyde"

Fu haters??? And in your second paragraph you speak of you clearly talk about "mw." I'm guessing you were speaking of Malik Williams, so apparently your transition to east coast talk wasn't as clear as you thought as you're still talking about Williams. I'd say it's you that's not well read, but loves to boast about saying his mom liked Louisville. Congrats on that one big guy.

Edit to include: yes, Fran should just stop recruiting the east coast because he hasn't hit a home run there yet. Great idea.

My point was just because a player is going to school in Indiana, it doesn't mean that's where he grew up. I can't remember for sure where Williams is from, and couldn't find it during a brief search. While I don't agree with Hawkeye Dude much, he does seem to follow BBall recruiting pretty closely, and I thought it possible Williams lived out East before landing in Indiana. I do think we've fared better in the Midwest than recruiting out East, but I wouldn't give up going after East, or West Coast players (see Basabe and Uhl).
