Just home from work

Other than scrapping my windows it was just wet

It is pretty slick out there. I cut out early from work around 3:30 and I’m glad I left when I did. Probably going to be some wicked wrecks during the commute.

Traffic in west DSM area driving cautiously. No accidents. Freeway and treated streets are fine BUT untreated streets, driveways, and sidewalks can be very slick.

When was that? .6 inches of ice would be a freaking disaster

Dec 14th. Never even lost power. I was wrong .68 actually.

Some of the more notable impacts were:

• Many slick roads in and around the Cedar Rapids, IA metro area where over a half inch of flat ice was observed (CID Airport total of 0.68").
• Iowa City, IA saw over a quarter inch of ice accumulation.
• Multiple jackknifed trucks on I-80 as reported through social media.

I was think in’ about going out for a cold one this afternoon, but then I read about ol’ Moscow Mitch and didn’t want to imitate his act. Soooo, I’m home with a cold EXILE Hannah sitting next to me.

I worked at Joe’s back in the day…but if I’m having an Old Fashion, I’d rather have it at The Greenbrier..I think I have eaten there 2-3 times in my life….
When I was young and foolish, I did my after hours work at The Gin Mill/ Michael’s… and got my education from Tommy!
