If Iowa wins out and doesn't make playoff, Rose Bowl awaits!!

The Rose Bowl doesn't have a say in the matter. The committee will assign the highest ranked B1G team available. If MSU is rated higher by the committee, they will go to Pasadena over Iowa. Jerry Palm at CBS currently has this scenario in his projections, and has Iowa playing Utah in the Fiesta Bowl.

According to Dochterman the Rose Bowl does get to choose the replacement B10 team. Would Iowa be a 'sexier' choice is a different argument.

Come back with facts next time.

I don't see it happening, but man is it fun to speculate about going unbeaten this deep into the season.
If the stars would all align, and Iowa somehow goes unbeaten including winning the B1G title game, then no way do they get left out of the playoffs.

If we go undefeated going into the B1G CG, we will be deep in the top 10 rankings (probably 5th or 6th). Then we will face the #1 team in the nation assuming we face an undefeated MSU or OSU team. There is NO WAY we don't catapult into the top 4 at that point if we win the B1G CG against the #1 team in the country and we ourselves are undefeated. We would have the MOST impressive win in the nation at that point. No contest.

That said, we need to win at Indiana and at Nebby first. Those two games scare me.

Are you kidding me? You probably wanted Ferentz to be fired last year - now we may go undefeated and you're still not happy.

Lol what?

I'm not sure in what way you think those things are related or how any of that has anything to do with what I said.

First, if we went 13-0 I would be ecstatic. But to accomplish that and be left out after most likely beating the defending national champion would be a huge disappointment and basically a crime.

It would in no way reflect poorly on Ferentz so to bring that up was just dumb and weird.

The good news is there is virtually no chance of that scenario happening.

BTW if we lose a few games I'll still be more than happy with this season.

If you want to make a point be a big boy and use your words.

Not saying it's likely, but....

If there are 3 other unbeaten teams from the Big12, Pac12, and ACC, then all of those teams would be ahead of us. For the 4th spot I think they might put a 1-loss SEC team in front of us, especially Alabama.

No. You're forgetting ESPN is not the selection committee.

The actual selection committee has the best interest of college football in mind and that would be a terrible move for the best interest of college football as a whole.

That would NEVER happen. NEVER! A BIG10 undefeated champion will never be marginalized by "the committee"

Well I think if they go 13-0 they will be making the post season. Heck we could lose out and I'm fairly confident they'd make the postseason

Agree, if we go 13-0 were in the post season.

Lose out and you're in an exhibition game.
