If Israel doesn't accept cease fire - f em

There are other Arab countries the Palestinians can move to, I would suggest that is the most viable solution for everyone. That way the "two state solution" which the Palestinians don't want anyway can go the way of the Dodo bird.
Well, they’re not leaving. So, back to reality… what’s your solution?

I understand exactly what the holocaust was. Hitler wanted the Jews, Gypsies and any other nonproductive groups to be totally eliminated. I don’t doubt for a minute that Netanyahu feels the same way about the Palestinians.

As I suspected, you don't know much about the holocaust.

Ok, but then what?

Come on, let’s discuss it. Tell me where I’m wrong.
There is no "then what" until there's peace and no terrorist organization running Gaza. Once phase 1 (peace) is completed then further discussions can take place, but that could takes years. If the Palestinians can prove they can be a good neighbor and won't go back to being run by terrorists, then they can discuss being their own separate state.

Netanyahu has already rejected a two-state solution.

Seems to me there are three options:

1. Keep Gaza locked down like a prison.
2. Palestinians get sovereignty
3. Palestinians integrate/assimilate into Israel

None are great for Israel. But neither side is going anywhere. So I guess we should just plan on centuries of conflict.

You're way to far ahead. You're like someone getting their first job and wanting to know the options for them to become the CEO. Focus on the now and get rid of hamas. Move on from there.

Exactly, and don't get concerned about an immediate fix,... This has another generation or two to play out...

As big an advocate as you are for Israel’s actions here, you really haven’t thought about what’s next? Or do you just not want to discuss it because the options are all unpalatable?

My focus in on the now and when the future comes we'll see how that plays out. It would be nice of the Palestinians could control their own lives, but that means they have to be good neighbors and not just for a month or a year. There has to be a fundamental change by the Palestinians.

So you believe Israel will someday be open to a two-state solution?

The Palestinians need to first be able to demonstrate that they can be a good neighbor and control their own political leaders,.. After that happens, a two state solution is possible.

Live peacefully in an open-air prison and don’t cause trouble, or get bombed.

Great choice for a generation or two..

If they can't live peacefully then there's nothing to discuss. For some reason you think the only way for their lives to be better is for them to be a independent state. Like most things in life, if there's something you want, you have to earn it. Let's see if the Palestinians can earn their independence.

Nah, I just live in reality and understand human nature. Nobody likes to live under another’s thumb forever. Add centuries of religious animosity and you have a forever conflict.

The sooner the Palestinians start to clean up their act, the sooner they won't be living under someone's thumb. Again, it's their decision when they want to start.

You don’t know that. Certainly Netanyahu has never been in favor of it. And he has many even further to his right.

We will see.

I said when Israel first invaded to Gaza they were playing directly into Hamas’ hands. By launching a full-scale attack the way they have they have bizarrely made Hamas the bad guys here.

If I were Israel I’d want a pause if only to rethink tactics.

And no - this is no way shape or form expressing any sympathy or offering a defense of Hamas. It is simply that by launching a general, large-scale invasion the way they have, a great deal of destruction and collateral damage has occurred that too many people are willing to accept as deliberate actions.

annex the Gaza strip, make it part of Israel and then they can remain in Israel.

This is very likely the short term solution,.. Israel will have to provide security while other nations invest in rebuilding Gaza...

Would Palestinians get to freely travel outside of Gaza? Would Gaza residents have the ability to vote in Israeli elections?
Travel yes, vote no. Israel was founded as a Jewish state and the only Jewish state in the world. The Jews were given their historical homeland back after the Holocaust, for good reason. A place where the Jews were supposed to be able to live in peace without discrimination and persecution. If Israel let Palestinians vote, it wouldn't be a Jewish state for very long, thus destroying what the UN created after WWII.

Doesn’t sound very democratic, but I suspect you’re right. You apparently think that’s a good thing.

Makes one wonder if Israeli government has at least a little interest in helping perpetuate this conflict at low levels so they would never have to deal with such sticky questions and likely worldwide condemnation.

I think having a Jewish state is a good thing. I know Israel would embrace the Palestinians and would provide them an opportunity for a good life. Unfortunately, the majority of the Muslim's in the region don't want a Jewish state in their neighborhood and will do whatever they can to eliminate it.

You believe this?
Yes because it was taking place for years until Israel had to close the border due to continued terrorist attacks. There were many hard working honest Palestinians living in the Gaza strip who went to work in Israel everyday who were forced to quit their jobs because of the actions of Hamas terrorists.

Chuck Schumer on foreigners interfering in American elections:
“As we’ve heard over the past weeks, the threat of foreign interference in our elections dates back to the founding days of the country. George Washington warned: “foreign interference is one of the most baneful foes of Republican government.” Adams wrote that “as long as elections happen, the danger of foreign influence recurs.”

Chuck Schumer on the duty of America to interfere in foreign politics/elections:
“Five months into this conflict, it is clear that Israelis need to take stock of the situation and ask, must we change course?" he said. "At this critical juncture, I believe a new election is the only way to allow for a healthy and open decision-making process about the future of Israel."
