The securities markets are perilous places, and speculation is allowed. Speculation is in fact a huge part of our economic system. Just look around you and see what speculation has inspired. Every non-living thing around you was once just an idea waiting for an investor to come along.

There is no easy way to divide this into good speculation and bad speculation ... or to figure out a way pick who is allowed to participate and who should be prevented from speculation.

Every person in this country has access to "inside information" on some level. Some of that is deep analysis, some of it based on counting the trucks coming and going from the warehouse where you work and some of it is gut instinct created after messing around with various markets over long periods of time.

I voted Trump in 2016 and 2020. I did not vote for either Trump or Harris in 2024.

The D and R's both had one thing in common. They both needed better candidates instead of what they put up. D's needed to grow a pair and pull the support for Biden and start the primary process 12-18 mos before the election. They had a hand in Trumps reelection too.

Harris was a DEI pick for VP and it worked. Not so much for POTUS. That said she was still my lesser of 2 evils by a wide margin.

Since when did we start calling these "DEI" picks? She was chosen to appeal to a specific demographic, just like Sarah Palin, yet no one called Palin a DEI pick. Politicians have always done this—selecting candidates to attract certain voters. People just slap DEI on everything these days to create a boogeyman.

And despite Sarah being a terrible pick from my favorite state, I voted for McCain.

That has crossed my mind a couple times already. It would turn into an impressive copy pasta. However, I have noticed that when I bring up stuff that's not defensible like the crypto the board MAGAs scatter like roaches and seem to suppress the memory of it.

I believe they actually know, but are completely dishonest.
