Illinois play by play...

We’re in BIG time trouble at the 3 lightweights... Penn State and Ohio State could very well pin us at all 3 weights... ugh!!! Thought Turk was going to be a little tougher than what we have seen so far.

Normally I am the guy who backs our guys up. But this is pathletic!!! Don't know what is wrong. When Kemerer is off it's a bad day. Kemerer is our best and most explosive wrestler and he was off. Don't know what is going on but I am glad I stayed home to watch my daughter play bball and not skip it for this fiasco!!

Not a good team...zero reason to wrestle Lee or Warner this year
Agreed. Don’t waste a year of eligibility for them. Even with them wrestling, we have no chance. PSU may shut us out. ISU even has a shot the way we are wrestling tonight. Flat out embarrassing. How do TB and company sell THAT to any high level recruits?!

Wow - Iowa guys want ballroom dancing (way too fkn high on every on the feet chance). IL guys are doing the Perry dance

Is Turk that overated? Did we all expect too much from him? JC i'll let all the experts on this board educate me.
Overrated? In what way? Is he even ranked? The bad part is, he's one of several supposedly decent 141 lbers we've recruited and he's beat the other ones. And he has not looked good to this point, that whole 141 scenario right now is not a pretty picture. If he doesn't have it now, it's not happening for him to the degree this team needs it to happen, IMO. Frankly I'm surprised he hasn't been better.

I know Iowa is not the best team in the country anymore, but what really sucks is that we may not even be the third best team in our own damn conference anymore. What happened to the strong, aggressive, attacking style we used to have?

Stickley, Perez, Turk, Happel, Aaron Meyer, Alvarez, Brownlee, Duggan, Gholizadeh, McDonald, McQuillen, Moody, Shaw, Velasquez, Wilson are not and never will be the kinds of wrestlers that are going to put us anywhere near the top again. They may be great kids but that doesn't cut it. All you Morningstar apologists need to take a hike, he isn't getting it done on the recruiting trail or we wouldn't have holes at 133, 174 and 184 again next year after we put our stud freshmen in the lineup.
