just seems to me both teams a lot of one & one...very little passing to teammates...jack up the 3's..I realize Illinoise has had injuries but seems to me they play this way regardless...never been impressed with Groce.

Matta...well he gets a butt load of talent..he should win.

I agree. I am really not sure what offense Groce has been trying to implement since he started at Illinois. He has lots of four star talent but they always seem to just pass the ball around until someone tries a 3 or play iso ball. Very much a one-on-one style of attack from the few times I have seen them.

Unless Groce turns things around at Illinois and quickly, he might be gone at the end of this year....fan base is getting pretty restless about the lack of wins....Ohio St is another team that may not make the NCAA tournament this year...

Yea. Assuming Illinois does not make the tournament this year, that will be 3 straight years without an NCAA appearance. Given that the Illini have several top 150 and even top 100 recruits on their roster, I could make a case that no Big Ten team has underachieved the past couple years as much as Illinois and Groce has. I, for one, hope they keep him!

Having read "Illini Loyalty" threads all year, I feel icky and need a shower. In fact that doesn't even seem to take the feeling of slime off.

But one thing I feel pretty accurate in saying. The overwhelming amount of Illini fans that post want to give Groce another year. In fact, many thought losing by two to Ohio State was a pretty good result considering all the injuries the Illini have.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with them. But I am saying that considering the missing personnel above Groce, there won't be anyone around who would, or even could, fire him at the end of this year. And their fans will be ok with that.

That entire athletic dept is a mess right now. The football situation is weird and I think you are correct in that Groce may get another year. I am fine with that because I think Groce is a terrible coach!
