"I'm not against immigrants as long as they come here legally."

My Point is the drain on social services and schools would be greatly reduced if they spoke English. Don’t care if the my can read or write it.

Try reaching school to kids that don’t speak English. It slows everything down for the entire class.

People like to scream racists to shut up people.

Doesn’t matter what color the kids are, if they can’t speak English it slows everybody down.

Some school districts in the state have a dozen languages they are trying to navigate to teach kids. Slows everybody down and the parents see it in test scores, so they pull them out and go private. Add in shitty behavior and the hurdles the school has to clear becomes insurmountable.

I don’t give a shit who denies it or how loud you scream that’s racist.
This is false. More nonsense about how schools actually work. I had a non-English speaking kid in class 2 years ago, and she didn't slow us down at all. Did I have about 3 more minutes of work using Google Translate? Yeah, but she didn't slow the class down at all. She had a translator with her all day long also so she had nothing but a positive affect on the other students.

You don’t believe Springfield is seeing increased revenues from sales, property, and income tax, and other?

Yes, but i's woefully inadequate when it comes to offsetting the cost of social services utilized by this population,.. People in this range of the financial spectrum tend to be heavy users / light contributors...

What percentage of these yahoos has ever spent time with an immigrant family?

It's disgusting how their hatred percolates.
What's disgusting is you trying to go for some bullahit high road as if your hanging out with Jimmy green card every day.

A guy currently working an event with an "immigrant " working on his green card.

Nice life bud.

I think unskilled immigration wouldn’t be much of a drain on society if the requirement was you speak conversational English.

Is that too much to ask?

It would be a huge financial burden lifted on schools and social services.
Would have kept my family out. How about yours?

You don’t know shit.

Not only have I interviewed dozens - did an embed for a week for a series in 2005 - I also spent the entire pandemic volunteering for Tapestry Farms where twice a week I went into immigrant homes delivering food aid.

Why don’t you stop being a douche bag and volunteer yourself:

Apparently this is not sitting well with the Haitians that can vote in Florida. It's a good idea not to piss off a block of 500,000 people in a state where you won by 350,000 in the last election.

That quite a significant voting block.

Listen, you can say what you want, but since we are on the topic, how bad of a decision by the Government is it to place 20,000 Haitians in an area with 60,000 people? I don't care where they are from or what color, but placing that many migrants from a third-world country in an area with such little resources is going to have problems. We aren't talking about 20-30 people here. That is a ridiculously high number of people. The problems are compounded not because of their skin color, but again, because they are from a third-world country.
Listen the US government did not place them in Springfield.

Yeah, I actually am trying to be part of the solution and not a pissy little bitch ass whiner like you.

You skipped the part about me spending 18 months going in and out of multiple families' homes to bring fresh food to people trying to make a new life for themselves. More than your sorry ass has done to help out.

You know what the majority of us normal, non-MAGAT Americans are? Sick of racist assholes. So STFU.

That "study" has been thoroughly debunked in previous threads.
The only numbers it gives for revenue it appears was income taxes. Not a thing on other taxes or economic activity. Yet, it included all government spending it could find. Nice cherry picking.

Where did you develop antipathy and disdain for immigrants then?

Because over the past 20 years in the times I've me, interacted with, interviewed, gotten meals with and spent time with recently arrived immigrants, to a person - they were all hardworking, ambitious people looking to achieve the American Dream.

You people tyring to vilify them are engaging in what I believe is one of the MOST anti-American things possible: crapping on the "melting pot" that helped build this country into the best in the world.

As you have picked up, it's a passionate issue for me and makes me angry to see good people demonized for no other reason than to help power-seeking jackasses like Trump and Vance win elections. It's sickening.

First perhaps we should address the barely noticeable trickle of green cards issued by our government, it's pathetic. Most of the applicants are better educated than the average American but only 3% are approved each year. With our declining population growth rate our country will need to bring in ~40,000,000 immigrants just in the short term to bolster our economy and job growth. Perhaps if we increased opportunities for people who actually want to work we would see a dramatic decrease in illegal crossings?

But no, instead let's deport millions of hard working people and watch our entire economy collapse before our very eyes. Y'all are right, Trump's plan is perfection.

Do you have a source on this that isn't an alt right twitter handle?
Hahah, I bet you could ask this exact question almost anytime an R posts something on HROT. Seems like there's a gap in their education about verifying the validity of sources - it happens so often I can't believe it. If I'm trying to make a point about something and the only place I can find is from an extreme source, something tells me that I shouldn't try to make that point.

How they can take simply ANYTHING they read and consider it as fact because it fits their narrative is unbelievable. Think about how dumb the average HROT Republican is, then realize that half of them are even dumber.

What part of anything I have ever posted leads you to belive I don't love legal immigrants?

Every thing you've posted in the aftermath of Trump vilifying the legal immigrant Haitians in Ohio, for starters.
That's not an answer.

I love legal immigration, I don't like cheaters.

I love small business owners, I hate people who set up fraud fronts.

Same idea.

We need legal immigration, what we don't need is people coming into our country with zero vetting.

You are a smart man torbee, no organization can bring on unvetted people and be expected to remain profitable. America is a business in that sense.

You want to know what is a real drain on public schools. Public funds going to religious nut schools so the kids could learn that the earth is flat and 6,000 years old. But I'm sure that doesn't bother you at all.
You think they teach flat earth in religious schools?
