Believe it or not, Iowa still very much controls their own destiny. Win out, and we at a minimum are guaranteed a share of the b1G crown. Win the btt after that, and Iowa could still get a one seed in the dance. Kind of crazy when you think of how poorly we have played lately. Not that I think it will happen, but put that bowl of positivity in your pipe and smoke it.

Just win tomorrow please.

Does it matter? I had no clue there was an asterisk next to B1g champion should it be shared.

Well, no, you are correct. The Big Ten does not have "co-champions". They each get a trophy that says "champion".

But you know it will still be said, "Iowa has not won outright since 1970". Outright versus shared is a cherished distinction.

I don't disagree. However, just to end a 37 year drought would be good enough for me. But I digress. Back to the negative discussions.

If we don't start playing like we were to start big play, it's not going to matter. We're playing like a middle pack team right now.

So the odds of this are what? 10% for conf. title and 1% for conf title + BTT title?

I hate to split hairs, but I could swear the 1979 Trophy says, "Co-Champions"

People don't put an asterisk next to Kansas for their 12 straight titles. They had multiple co-championships. It's not a cherished distinction in basketball that's more of a football line of thinking.

Thanks to Purdue taking down Maryland yesterday, we can now hypothetically win the damn thing outright if we finish 3-0 and Maryland beats IU.

I realize nothing about our recent play inspires confidence in this scenario. But, alas.

Possibly. And possible they changed the policy. Also possible that what is true for Football (no "co-champs") is not true for basketball (I assumed the bball policy from the known fball policy).

Yeah, I don't know for sure either. I was at the U of I's Trophy building, whatever it is called, recently and I'm only fairly certain. But when I can't remember the name of the building....how credible am I? :) No need to answer.

I'll take co-champ and a 3-0 run to close the season. At this point, 2-1 looks like a long shot
