Big series as Iowa is in 7th and tOSU 8th. Iowa has a lot of injuries, where osu just got Ryan Riga back last week after a month and he was B1G pitcher of the week. This is a sat, sun, and mon series with the sun afternoon and Monday night games on BTN. Iowa will go with Hedrick, Kuebel, and TBA in that order. It should be interesting.

Peyton hasn't officially been ruled out for Monday so I've got my fingers crossed he can go. OSU freshman Zach Farmer was just diagnosed with leukemia and will begin chemo on Monday. Thoughts and prayers to him and his family.

Iowa loses to Ohio State 9-4 in game one. Unfortunately due to pitching injuries, this team is what it is at this point. Just have to hope for the best.

Ohio State got out to a 7-0 lead before Iowa scored a run. OSU had a 2-run HR in the 2nd and a 2-run HR in the 3rd to help take an early 5-0 lead. Iowa's runs in the 7th came via a bases loaded walk and a bases loaded hit by pitch. Iowa also got a run in the 8th on a fielders choice and in the 9th on a solo homerun by Tyler Peyton.

Andrew Hedrick pitched 5 innings for Iowa allowing 8 hits and 7 runs (6 earned). Brandon Shulista pitched the final 3 innings for Iowa, it had been a LONG time since he pitched. Shulista allowed 4 hits and 2 runs (1 earned).

Iowa and OSU play again on Sunday afternoon on BTN at 2:05

First game I've been able to watch on TV this year. Wow Iowa looks hot. Kuebel is cruising, the hitters are ripping everything, and the runners are super aggressive.

11-1 in the 5th at this point.

Iowa was able to run Ryan Riga in 4 2/3 which was key. Riga is one of those guys that when he is on, he can be one of the best in the conference. They got his pitch count high early and it's obviously been to Iowa's benefit.

Iowa is getting exactly what they need from Sasha Kuebel, he has been pretty solid since the Indiana debacle. I am not sure what his pitch count is currently but it was at 55 in the 6th at one point. OSU's total pitch count was at 176 in the 7th before the inning ended.

Iowa wins 17-2, Kuebel goes the distance. This is a big win. Iowa was on fire offensively today, Tyler Peyton got his 2nd HR of the weekend which is his 2nd of the season. It was nice to get into the OSU bullpen and not only that, they had high pitch counts.

Iowa/OSU will play the rubber match on BTN on Monday Night at 6pm. Heller is being interviewed on This Week in the Big Ten. Heller says Tyler Peyton will get the start, sounds like he will be limited, possibly on a pitch count, and it doesn't sound like Heller will be afraid to go to the bullpen.

Game 3 is on BTN tonight. A win for Iowa would get them very close to locking up a bid for the B1G tournament.

Iowa loses 3-2 and loses the series. Iowa is 26-17 and 8-10 in the B1G with 7th place Illinois coming to Iowa City.

Iowa tied it at 2-2 and OSU hit a solo HR in the 5th and that was the difference. Both teams had 9 hits, Iowa scattered hits and scored two runs in the 5th. They had chances to get two out hits in the 7th/8th that could've scored runs and just didn't get it done.

Iowa's pitching giving up 3 runs the whole game is pretty darn good considering the troubles our bullpen has had in the past.
Iowa has Illinois and Purdue left in B1G play. PSU is 5-12 in the B1G and Purdue is 5-13. Iowa still has A LOT of work to do to ensure making the tournament. Illinois will be tough, extremely tough. I think Iowa needs 1/3 at minimum.

day and roscetti both look like pinball flippers at the plate.

very short strides and mechanical swings. was very surprised to see their swings.

Day has been pretty good the majority of the season. Roscetti is not as good of an option offensively as Peyton, but when Peyton pitches he isn't an option to play 1B.

Wow, major type on my part. I knew Illinois was in 2nd, must have been thinking about Iowa when I put 7th.
I figured it was a typo.

I'm real interested to see how your series with the Illini plays out.
