Absolutely big series for Iowa baseball, especially with Michigan and MSU still looming. Iowa travels to Bloomington to take on Indiana. The Sunday game is on BTN.

Friday - 5pm - CJ Eldred
Saturday - 1pm - Tyler Peyton
Sunday - 2pm - Nick Gallagher - Game on BTN

Indiana will throw two lefties and their pitchers as a whole have the second best ERA in the B1G and a good strikeout to walk ratio. This sill be a tough series, hopefully Iowa can find a way to get it done.

Iowa loses to Indiana 7-1 in game one. Iowa did absolutely nothing offensively the whole game. Iowa's lone run came on a McCoy RBI double after an Indiana error got Roscetti to 2nd. It was a 3-1 game headed into the 8th before Indiana scored four runs in the 8th. Once again, Iowa's offense fails to show up for a road game. We can score all the runs we want in midweek games, but it doesn't matter if we can't score and win conference games.

I hate to say it folks but the Indiana, Michigan, and MSU series will probably do us in as far as a B1G tournament birth goes.

We will see how the next two days play out, but Iowa has yet to prove then can win/score on the road. Iowa is now 2-11 in true road games.

Iowa loses 8-2 to Indiana and loses the series. Once again, Iowa really did nothing offensively and never really threatened for a big inning. Indiana scored seven runs (six earned) off of Tyler Peyton in the first two innings. Nick Allgeyer and Shane Ritter combined for the final five innings and held Indiana to one more additional run.

Iowa tries to avoid the sweep on Sunday on BTN at 2pm

Iowa gets a big win to avoid the sweep, beating Indiana 6-5 in 10 innings. Iowa was down 5-3 before they tied it 5-5 in the 8th. Iowa scored the go-ahead run in the 10th with 2 outs. The bottom of the order got it done for Iowa today.

-Nick Roscetti 4-5, 3 runs
-Robert Neustrom 3-5, 2 RBIs
-Eric Schenck-Joblinske 1-3, 2 RBIs

Ryan Erickson was as good as he has been all year for Iowa in relief. It reminded me of the Erickson from last year. Erickson threw 5 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, he even retired 17 straight at one point. Josh Martsching came in and got the last out for Iowa via a strikeout.

-Nick Gallagher 4 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 4 BB, 2 K's
-Tyler Radtke 1 ER, 1 BB
-Ryan Erickson 5 2/3 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 K
-Josh Martsching 1/3 IP, 1 K

This was a big win for Iowa in the sense that it puts them at 6-6 in the B1G rather than 5-7. Iowa has a three game series at home against #21 Michigan next weekend. Michigan can really swing the bats, so hopefully Iowa is ready to play. Still very tough sledding ahead for Iowa with Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State on the schedule. As I've said numerous times, Iowa does not get the luxury of facing Purdue or Northwestern or both. I think Iowa & Illinois might be the only teams that don't have at least one of them on their schedule.
