cheers to you if you were at the game. The I-O-W-A chants in the second half could be heard very clearly on tv. Also it made it sound like a Hawkeye home game when IU was on offense late in their comeback. For further proof, check out the disappointment on the peegs board.

Great work.

Listening on the radio, the Hawk fans sounded louder than the Hoosiers. Our fans were awesome.

For those who went, were the announcers right that a large amount of fans left at half?

I was more embarrassed for Indiana honestly.

I remember that happening against Illinois in basketball during the dark ages of our program. That was the moment I didnt think we were ever going to be good again

A bunch of students left at half. Other fans left in the fourth quarter, way too early, after our last touchdown. Even when behind, they definitely weren't cheering as much as in 2006, kind of a lame croud, which is strange considering how much they were drinking during tailgating.

I know IU is a basketball school, but c'mon! Beautiful day, an undefeated Iowa team coming in and an Indiana team that plays good football and scores a lot of points. Embarrassing.

I hope they had a lot of recruits there to see that.

That's it? Surprised Iowa wouldn't have had at least 10k

No, Ohio didn't even have that many and there were a lot of those idiots there. Iowa had sec 3 and 4 in the lower 50 rows only plus some scalped seats sprinkled in. Ohio filled all 114 rows of 3 and 4 plus scattered.

There were not any sitting near us but the ones we met in the tailgates were nice humble fans.

There were Iowa fans all the way over to Section 1. Source: my butt sitting in Sec 1

Actually, you are right. Looking at my post I should have said sections 1-3 which are the visitors sections.

It's a travesty, to me anyway, that IU can't have a good FB program. Great tailgating south of the stadium though all areas around the stadium are good.

Nice stadium and their band rocked. We had a great day!

There were 45000 tix sold and nearly that many inside. Iowa had a good turnout and the few we talked to were good people. No need to be a dick.

Not my fault their fans are fair weather fans. Don't t really care about your opinion either.

Their RB and QB played their tails off, as did the rest of the team. Definitely deserve better from their fans.

I was there. Here are my observations:

I) I would guess there were 35K or so there and around 7,000 Iowa fans. IU's stadium is weird in that most Iowa fans were on the press box (home) side.
II) It has to be hard to be an IU football fan. I thought our fans were mostly well behaved and respectful. I only got a little crap from a couple of drunk kids out near that convenience store.
III) The most humorous thing I saw was after the game when the team came over to the fans and Jaleel Johnson and one or two other guys got into the stands and the 70 something IU security guy chases them back down.

Did anybody else find the lighting really poor? Felt difficult to see the game (yes, I was sober  )

Morehouse tweeted it during the game that it was very dark! ESPN compensated my ramping up the the brightness!

This is just crazy to me. What was the score at half? 3 point difference? And you don't come back against a top 10 team? Yikes.

Was there as well and think your estimates are pretty close. And as another poster said my group thought the same thing with poor lighting in the stadium.

Lot of Iowa fans out early to tailgate. Indiana has a nice place on south end of stadium. We had a Hoosier fan by us jokingly ask us early on if we were in Iowa or Indiana with all the hawk fans out. Perfect weather for tailgating too. Heard from lot of people how so many tailgate and don't even bother to go to the games which was pretty obvious. They said they do all their photos of the stadium when it's full is from games vs Ohio st and all their fans wearing same colors.

How can you claim they are embarrassing when we cant even sell out our own stadium in a year like this. BTW I went to the game and Indy is a great place for a visiting game.

Bloomington isn't Indy. I had to drive 80 or so miles down Hwy 231 off I-74 from Crawfordsville on a 2 lane highway with no shoulders.

Its a nice town, but there is zero game energy. Its a basketball school.

Anyone else see the couple, probably in their 60s, fighting out in the parking lot after the game? I was walking over to the gas station parking lot to get another pork sandwich, damn those were good.

Agree. I noticed the same thing. Terrible lighting. Looked like backyard football at dusk. Other than that, the stadium was nice... sparsely attended but nice. Great sightlines. The Indiana and Iowa fans were good in my area. The tailgating area was great. Their baseball and softball stadiums are state of the art.

I wasn't there on Saturday but Bloomington is always worth the trip. Prettiest campus and prettiest girls in the Big Ten, IMHO.
