Sorry I don't follow wrestling as nearly as close as most in this thread but I am curious what the story of all this is. Thanks
He was a 3 timer in Louisiana and is going to tOSU. Came to Dubuque Wahlert for some reason. Got roughed up by Brands the second time they wrestled. After winning last night he pushed the kids face down then kneed him in the head (not hard, but still). Got booed by the crowd after that and holding 4 fingers. Don’t know if he was signaling 4 timer or W for Wahlert.

285 Sam Stoll (Iowa) vs Marcus Harrington (Iowa State)
I think they are wrestling but we're talking about the world cup of wrestling.

Wow, the reaction towards him seems totally fair! Thanks!

it would appear that it is still a Stoll ride.
Now a SW on Harrignton as Stoll tries for bodylock.

I certainly am glad that the 'energized' ISU crowd is so loud in support of the Hawkeyes. I find it odd that they would cheer that loud but the tv announcer continues to gush about the ISU crowd and the future.

Never been a fan of calling kids names. Let them grow up first.. Shows us who you are as an adult
Fair enough, and probably first post I've ever made on here "calling out a kid" so my apologies. All I know is if my 2.5 year old son decides to wrestle and ever behaves in that manner I'll be the first to drag his butt off the mat. There wasn't one other kid last night (at least that I'm aware of) that behaved like that. Although he may still be a kid he's old enough to know how to conduct himself. If Hageman's head would have been in a different/more vulnerable position he could have popped him pretty hard with the intentional knee. I shouldn't have called him names I guess yet what he did is bush league.

Call him a douche bag is unfair, but the young man did not represent himself very well last night.
Correct, and I did make a separate post apologizing for doing that. I normally conduct myself in a better manner yet that garbage he pulled at the end of the match got under my skin. Hate seeing kids do that, particularly when they're mature enough at this point in their careers to know how to act

Truth hurts and unfortunately the behavior probably comes from an adult. He’s 17 or 18 and should already know better. I mean he’s already won three titles so act like you’ve been there before. Anyways his opponent did nothing to deserve the face push and knee to the head.

He's old enough to serve in the military and old enough to make an adult decision on where he wants to live. He very well might mature but right now he is what he is.

I agree with not calling high schoolers names, but a senior is a couple months away from adulthood. I told my oldest when she was a senior and tuned 18, you are and adult now make sure you make adult decisions. I think as a society we expect way too little of 18 year olds.

That's what refs are for. Leave it to them, and not broadcast it on a college wrestling board.

Harrington made no attempt to do anything for 7 minutes. That was a comical effort at best. I guess at ISU that just makes you a member of the team.

That dual was a great example of your big brother showing up at the play ground to kick your tail simply out of boredom. But he was nice enough to let you land a punch before before completing the pummeling. I have seen ISU wrestle in person but didn't think it would be any where near as bad as it was.

Radio post game
Situation for ISU program is down now. going to be down for a couple years. this happens gradually. it's going to take time to get back where they want to be. What I'm sure they are going to do is get some transfers to come in, maybe Juco national champs, while they work on the recruiting process. It's a long process.

With that, Iowa came in and took care of business. Iowa wrestle the way they could. Lot of momentum coming in and going out. They came out and dominated. Left some points at 49, 57 and 84. Good builder for East Lansing. Process is stay healty and get healed. Wicke needs time off the mat to get healthy not a big thing but needs some time off the mat. So does Kemerer. No explaination of why a backup couldn't have wrestled at 197.

Do you think Turk and Gunther are the guys?
I think so. I don't know for sure. I'd go that way. It's not like either guy is light years ahead of the other guy.

Lots of talk about the B1Gs and how they are mini- National Tournaments.

Take it easy on high school kids. They all need room to grow.

Maybe if some man in his life (father, coach, teacher) had the balls to tell him he was acting like a douche it might lead him to change...instead people just tolerate his behavior and chalk it up to being young.

I saw no other bush league crap like that last night. It was one of the cleanest and best wrestled finals I've ever seen except for his behavior.

First time I recall seeing Zadick sitting in his chair motionless. VT wasn't a good look on him and ISU seems to be an even worse one. GO HAWKS!
Zadick and Metcalf seemed very uninspiring to their team.
BTW - both seemed 25 lbs thicker than last season. I know I'm getting trashed for this....
