Yea, Baylor obviously sucks. 19 wins in a row. National champions. Yep they suck. Only got 61 first place votes this week (all of them). They are worthless.Baylor on the road this year has been a much different team than at home. 12 point win over 5-7 ASU, 8 point win over 8-6 Oregon. Long way to go.
You just dropped your 24th straight Big 12 game.
Incarnate word and VCU covered as well.
Ponder that.
At least you posted a correct stat.73-53. Ponder that.
Did I say they sucked? I pointed out their performances on the road, to which your loss was one.Yea, Baylor obviously sucks. 19 wins in a row. National champions. Yep they suck. Only got 61 first place votes this week (all of them). They are worthless.
At the time. I don't think we want him now anymore then they do. It's funny I remember when he was like a soph in high school and his recruitment was blowing up, there were people saying he wasn't going to realize the high expectations that everyone had for him, and he wasn't a hard worker. I guess he's got a couple of years yet to prove everybody wrong IF he wants it bad enough.....Isn’t is pretty remarkable with 7? They also kick off a player we badly wanted.
Nailed it.If I were the clones, I wouldn't count on getting double the number of FT attempts as their opponents, especially on the road.
Why is it when the clowns win against the Hawks the win is all that matters but when the Hawks win all we hear from clown fans is excuses for why the win by Iowa didn’t really count or the clowns would have won if the refs hadn’t stolen the game from them?73-53. Ponder that.
oklahoma was on fire in the second half of that game. They shot a ridiculous percentage from the field. isu D wasn't great, but I think that onslaught was at least as much about oklahoma just clicking. okie has plenty of talent, including the two brothers who transferred from eastern washington. One is the starting 5 for them. He'd be a massive upgrade if Iowa could have landed a guy like him.
Blaming the refs for a loss is long held tradition of the isu fan base. Just how you all roll.Blaming officials for a loss is a loser's mentality. Some (certainly not all) on CF are taking this approach. I refuse to do this. ISU simply didn't play well on either end of the floor last night. Why is anyone's guess, but you have to look the play of OU. THEY were the better defensive team yesterday. Kudos to them. I hope ISU can steal 2-3 road games this year, but I'm not sure where they will come from right now. My expectations were so low this season - if they could somehow get to 10 wins, I would've been very happy. Being 13-2 is awesome, but they obviously have work to do. Hope for the best this week vs KU and Texa$. I wouldn't be surprised if they lose both games.
Really good defense in football results in turnovers and quick scores as well. No different. But thank god we have clown fans here to tell us how it really is.Heryfan. Be careful with the "all" when you refer to any fan base. ISU's fan base is no different than Iowa, or anyone else. There is a wide range of intellect, etc.
To answer your question, I think (and I could be wrong) that playing really good defense in basketball creates a lot of opportunities to score with every possession (about 50-60 per game).
Playing really good defense in football generally results in a low scoring, slow-paced game with limited big plays. Now, once in a while the defense can create a turnover that leads to a quick score and/or short field. Iowa did this well this past season.
I guess it's just the difference between the two sports. Hard to really make a fair comparison. I personally like the 17-14 football games rather than a 38-35 shootout, but I am just one person and don't represent the entire ISU fan base. Playing good defense in either sport does reflect an attitude of hard work, discipline, and team work that I think most (not all) people like.
No I get it. Wining with defense is football is boring and winning with defense in basketball is exciting because isu fans say so.Agreed on turnovers + quick scores. I think the difference is there are 40 seconds between plays in FB - its just a slower pace, whereas it is continuous action (minus FTs + fouls) in Bball.
Just my opinion, no need to hurl insults. Be nice.
Again thank god we have isu fans here to tell us how it really is.Ok, whatever you say. I'm guessing a few (not all) Hawk fans (or any fanbase) might agree with me.
Actually I think they broke that string with Tech.Baylor on the road this year has been a much different team than at home. 12 point win over 5-7 ASU, 8 point win over 8-6 Oregon. Long way to go.

Timing of post.Actually I think they broke that string with Tech.
I don't know if they know that yet. They have three high school graduates committed. Brockington is the only one I have heard so far not likely to return for 2022-2023, but sure there will be more. Who knows on what younger players might transfer in this climate. I would think they might be looking for a big yet.Does ISU dip back into the transfer well after the season? How many guys are gone after one season in Ames?
Pretty sure Brockington won’t get a 7th year.I don't know if they know that yet. They have three high school graduates committed. He can come back though, for that COVID year.I don't know if they know that yet. They have three high school graduates committed. If isu’s awesome defense really resulted in quick scores isu would score more than 51 or 60 points in a game. It isn’t like isu is all of a sudden pressing like Dr. Tom’s teams at Iowa where forcing turnovers is resulting in quick and easy points. Not sure an Iowa team during his run ever scored only 51 points in a game.Heryfan. Be careful with the "all" when you refer to any fan base. ISU's fan base is no different than Iowa, or anyone else. Agree but when you play defense like Iowa State you are competitive in every game, especially on the road. Defense travels. And it’s not always about getting turnovers. Kansas was having a hard time even getting the ball in bounds in the last 6-7 minutes. Cyclones are not a great shooting team which also doesn’t help.If isu’s awesome defense really resulted in quick scores isu would score more than 51 or 60 points in a game. I agree with you. This is more a shot at clown fans that were constantly crying about Iowa winning football games with defense and special teams. Calling it the most boring football ever. Of course now that they are doing the same thing with basketball all of a sudden winning with defense is “exciting”.Agree but when you play defense like Iowa State you are competitive in every game, especially on the road. ISU is averaging 70ppg against P5 teams this year - but I know you're just a troll. If isu’s awesome defense really resulted in quick scores isu would score more than 51 or 60 points in a game. We literally just had 3 players complain about the officiating on Twitter after the Wisconsin loss.Blaming officials for a loss is a loser's mentality
and clown fans still think winning a basketball game 51-47 is “exciting”. While winning a football game 23-20 is boring.ISU is averaging 70ppg against P5 teams this year - but I know you're just a troll.
