Iowa to the pinstripe bowl

It's not even the fact its in New York, it's that it's on a Wednesday not on a paid holiday. Essentially to enjoy the time you're going to have to take time off of work for several days to make the trip worth the while. When it's on a weekend or holiday you're able to plan a better trip without using up PTO or sick days.

That's a problem with a bunch of bowls this year. Foster farms, holiday are no different.

This is the result of that BS decision by the playoff committee. IF Alabama had one really good win, like tOSU beat Oklahoma last year, I could understand taking a team that didn't win their conference or division. Really Alabama has about the same case as Wisconsin, both 1 loss non-conference champs with about equal schedules. ESPN lobbying the way they did with their biased self interests is just pathetic.

I don't understand all those going "meh" "this sucks" "not going to waste money"

Would you have been excited about a match up in Santa Clara against Arizona (or whomever)
or Nashville against Kentucky?

How are those significantly better?

eh I hear from vikings and Bears fans, not to mention tons of iowa fans, that have no problem with football in the snow. Why is this different?
Um... because most fans from Iowa want to go watch a game in weather above freezing? The players might not mind playing in the cold, but they sure as hell would rather be playing in SoCal or even Nashville.

I am talking about the fans. I'll start a post that we should dome kinnick so we don't have to sit outside in November. Watch the response. You'd think I'd shot Hayden. But playing a bowl game in NYC (where it might not be snowy and cold. Been to plenty of New Years parties in the 40s) is OMG, this is terrible. Instead of sitting in maybe 50 degree weather in Nashville or Santa Clara? Comeon' you guys are just whining to whine.

We dropped 3 contests against teams that we were every bit as good as in MSU, NW and Purdue. Win 2 of those 3 and we are going somewhere better.

Difference between B1G conference game and a bowl game. Common man, I know you understand the difference. Have a non-con game at the end of the season up north in cold weather and fans would like it. That’s the difference between a regular game and bowl game/vacation. Not hard to understand.

I get your argument if you are taking NYC v. Miami. You're not. None of the possible locations are sunny beaches. It was Nashville or Santa Clara. If you are talking vacation on dec. 27. Give me NYC every day. It's not like Nashville and Santa clara are going to allow you to wear shorts, see the ocean, go swimming or take fewer days off work.

It was only a matter of time we would be going to this bowl, thought I read the big ten is contractually obligated to send seven different teams in eight year span with hopes to send eight different teams. Hoping the next few years we are selected well before this bowl gets a chance. Could be worse- my buddies highlight of the season was a dumb press conference introducing Frost today

Really? There's a connection between wins and bowl destinations?

Really going to be hard to get the boys up for this game I'm afraid

Really? Group hasn’t won a bowl since they’ve been here just cause fans aren’t excited about matchup and location. I doubt the team won’t be ready to play and end season on high note.

Iowa connection I believe former LB coach jim Reid is their DC.

Damn, I forgot about Reid. Hope he doesn’t clue everyone in our sexy offense.
