It's painfully obvious, as soon as the pressure gets put on the right arm he loses the leg every time. You can be frustrated and feel for him at the same time. Most of us likely are. Just wanted to shed a little light on the situation. Cullen is great young man that’s had a horrible bad luck streak. He wasn’t able to do the things he wanted to get done this off-season. He’s one tough SOB to be out there battling the way he is right now. If you know wrestling and pay attention to his matches it’s not hard to see what’s hampering him.
Giving a wrestler a poor grade for pinning a guy too fast, now I've seen it all.Slush, a pin following the first TD, all of which was completed in 1:16 is an A. Should the lion play with his food for 5 minutes or just kill it and eat it? I'm thinking kill and eat. Tony can do all the other crap you mentioned in the room next week. And a realistic strategy? Tony's strategy against weaker opponents seems to be pretty sound...take them down and pin them. Wish all of our guys had that strategy!![]()
That's only because you have no idea what you're talking about. At this point, my opinion, which means nothing, is CS has HEW.
He started wrestling very early and was pushed hard.
His deal looks mental as much as physical.
So...you're a friend or relative to CS?That's only because you have no idea what you're talking about.
I don’t know about he and Cullens relationship, but I can assure you you’re dead wrong.So...you're a friend or relative to CS?
The mental part?I don’t know about he and Cullens relationship, but I can assure you you’re dead wrong.
Yep, me and his mom are besties. Does that make you feel better?So...you're a friend or relative to CS?
Probably doesn’t make Cullen feel better.Yep, me and his mom are besties. Does that make you feel better?
Mentally he’s 110%. And most are aware of Cullens history in the sport, but it has zero to do with his current situation. Just facts. The mental part?
Because this kid was pushed HARD as a youth.
Damn didn’t know about this interview!Great post MVP. I agree with everything you said.
You didn’t touch on all the injuries we’ve had so I’ll add this. Listen to Tom’s interview with Lex Fridman on YouTube if you haven’t before. Particularly Lex’s questions on recovery and over training. Around 7:35 it starts with the recovery question, and 18:00 with over training. I personally don’t like the responses at all by Tom, and makes me question all the injuries Iowa has had other than just having bad luck or the injury bug.
I think Tom Brands is one of the best coaches in the country, but I couldn’t believe some of his answers.Damn didn’t know about this interview!
I’ve lifted heavy for 45 years and chad to rethink training at app 58. By rethink I mean go lighter.I think Tom Brands is one of the best coaches in the country, but I couldn’t believe some of his answers.
He acknowledges a need for recovery, but then finishes with there’s no time for it for young people. I and science couldn’t disagree more. Recovery is just as important as training no matter how old you are. For over training he says it comes down to your mindset or outside distractions. Again, I and science couldn’t disagree more. Yes your mind can push you through about anything, but your body won’t respond and/or peak at top performance which is what high level athletics is all about.
We’ve had an absurd amount of injuries over the years. Answers like these from the head coach make your head turn.
Is there some prize for being the biggest PSU dumbass each season? It would make sense with the sheer volume of contenders.Probably doesn’t make Cullen feel better.
Nice work, turd.
