I guess we will hear a lot about the Orange Krush - Stephen Bardo is one calling the action! I hope we get a decent referee crew, but I doubt it!

Ugh, as an Illini fan I am actually pissed it's Bardo ... he's the only Big Ten Network personality that goes obnoxiously far out of his way to not sound like a "homer," and most Illini fans I know hate when he announces our games. It's not like he's a terrible announcer (he's fine for a non-Illini game, I guess?), but it gets so annoying ... repeats the same stuff a lot, too.
Luckily, I will be in the arena ... do you guys serve beer there yet, or will I have to have extra fun at the pregame?? 😆

There's beer but I couldn't justify the prices when we were there 2 weeks ago. Just have a few in the lot and then walk the 5 miles to the arena.

Also fine unless it's an Iowa game but he's too over the top with his praise of Iowa.
Thanks, when I was last there they didn't sell beer yet. Carver has its flaws, but it's actually one of my favorite visiting arenas to see a game at ... there legitimately is not a bad seat in the entire place, when comparing it to other Big Ten arenas.
I think Bardo, Settles and Hummel are all good.

They're certainly not free but you can buy 16 oz cans of a regional craft beer. Ask for an Easy Eddy. I think it's mostly an Iowa thing (Big Grove Brewing) but maybe they distribute in Illinois. For the premium you pay I have a hard time buying a generic beer, but I did crush a few of those the last few games. $12 a throw I believe. Card only btw... Cashless concessions.
Cant stomach $15 for a couple beers watching the Hawks live? Pounding in the parking lot is fun but after an hour you better keep drinking or you wouldve been better off not drinking at all.

Agree. They actually know the teams and players in the games they are analyzing and have watched them for more than a few highlights. Far better than the majority of national broadcasters.
I opted for neither. We went out on the river landing the night before and had to drive back right after the game so it didn't sound too appealing.
Hummel by far the best. Not close really.
