Iowa Women's Basketball Recruiting Offer/Commitment List

The Nike TOC in Chicago continues today and tomorrow. Lisa is currently watching 2024 G/F Allie Ziebell (ranked #9 in her class by ESPN) and Wisconsin Flight Elite. Ziebell (#1 on the team in white) has had a really good week and is considered one of the best shooters in the country. ESPN actually lists her as the best shooter in the country here.

Wisconsin Flight Elite vs. MS Flowles

Jan Jensen is currently watching 2025 G prospect Jordan Speiser and Missouri Phenom against 16U Wisconsin Flight Elite and 2024 G Taylor Stremlow.

How did she do? Thanks
Hard to judge in the two games I watched. Her team had 10 players and they subbed 5 at a time, so she played roughly half of each game. Lots of pressing from each team, so at times there was a lot of up and down and not a lot of set offense.

Whole team is pretty good, so she isn’t leaned on to go score 20-25, which is the case with most AAU teams. From a shot making and creating standpoint it’s probably better to search her highlights.

She is similar to Jenica Lewis from a passing aspect. Both of them see the floor well, however both of them try to make some passes that aren’t necessarily there. However, I’d say it’s easier to learn how to cut down on risky passes, rather than learn how to read the floor and see available passes.

She had some good defensive possessions as well.

She is good. Can she shoot from beyond the arc? Size wise she looks like a wing player in college.
She has a long way to go with ball skills and shooting if she is going to be a wing player in college. Has a motor that won’t stop so I assume she is putting in a ton of work. Great family. Great kid.

Wow, I read over a week ago that she had been taken off intubation. Now she is intubated again? I hope that doesn't mean her situation has worsened.

I believe the statement that she would be taken off intubation came from Ava's grandma relatively soon after the accident was reported. I think given what we know now that statement was either incorrect or inaccurate (note: I'm not trying to say her grandma lied. Just that she might've tried to summarize what the doctors told her and done so incorrectly).

From what we know now, Ava has been in a medically induced coma since the accident. My guess is she has been intubated during that entire time.

It was reported recently that their status has been changed from critical to stable. That is a good sign. I don't think these latest reports are a reason to worry.

Feels like a good time for a full reset on the WBB recruiting list. It has changed a large amount since the beginning of this thread.

Was that Callie Levin for All Iowa Attack getting abused by Taylor in those video clips?
Callie was guarding her in two of them. The one is a pull up 3 off of a dribble handoff and the other Taylor gets her pretty good going to the hoop, but she does that to a lot of people.

How many scholarships will be available for 2024? That class seems to be loaded with good to great talent.

Callie can really put the ball in the hoop. I doubt she will ever be considered a defensive stopper.

In the end Callie’s team won and advanced. These 2 teams played once previously this summer in Ames and Flight won that meeting without Stremlow. Then lost to Attack at Nationals with her and with her having a good game. Hard to figure. Attack 16U ‘s got 3rd at NIKE Nationals after winning it the past 2 National Tournaments. Lost to eventual champ, Philadelphia Rise by 2 in the semis and won the Consolation game over a team from California.
