Thanks to everyone for the updates for those of us who couldn't be there!!!
I was thinking the same thing. But he was super thinned out.Stickley at 141 makes you appreciate the cut he made to 125 last year.
That's it for today. Murin-Turk, Glosser-Young, Bull-Brands, Cash-Bowman, Stoll-Cass and more tomorrow!
So is JWar going with Myles Wilson?
Yeah but probably some room familiarity there as well as Glynn is not quite a rockstar but definitely no slouchAbout as expected overall, though I thought DeSanto would major Glynn.
Something is up here Bowman and Wilcke were suppose to wrestle and didn't. I think Wilson will wrestle one of them tomorrow, possibly because of injury.I wonder what's gonna happen there. Wilson whipped Brownlee, Corbin beat him 3-2
Stickley gave him all he could handle. Was tied with 30 seconds to go (but RT to Turk). The Stick was scrappy.IAWrestle said not a lot of action from Turk/Stickley. Disappointing.
Kaleb was fast on his shots and decisive. Pretty impressive, given Moody’s success in the offseason. He was in control the entire match. I think Kaleb has finally found his weight.Cody GoodwinVerified account@codygoodwin 59s59 seconds ago
157: Kaleb Young over Jeremiah Moody 12-4. Young had five takedowns and riding time. It was just two matches, against his own teammates, but Young looked really good today, you guys. #Iowa
I like his willingness to change weights to find his way into the lineup, Daryl Weberish.Stickley have him all he could handle. Was tied with 30 seconds to go (but RT to Turk). The Stick was scrappy.
I wouldn't bet on Stoll beating Cass.Because I'm bored... ranking these by confidence:
1. (most) Bull over Brands
2. Stoll over Cass
3. Young over Glosser
4. Cash over Bowman
5. Murin over Turk
3-5 are going to be wild
I wouldn't bet on Stoll beating Cass.

Momma Cass?

This is a real positive for the Hawks. Now the Hawks need to figure out 141 and 184. Liking the potential of this years team a lot. Go Hawks!!!Kaleb was fast on his shots and decisive. Pretty impressive, given Moody’s success in the offseason. He was in control the entire match. I think Kaleb has finally found his weight.

Another thing that may have affected Moody’s tank a little bit was that he had a war with Kelly until Kelly broke in the middle of the third whereas Young walked to a TF. Still Young was far and away the better option of the 2.Probably the biggest take away from a team standpoint was Young. He looked like a true 157 whereas Moody looked like a big 165 trying to make 157...looked tired so maybe the cut is affecting him. Young kept shooting and scoring, taking chances, and had crisp, clean shots...at the right weight, he is who we thought he was to paraphrase Coach Green. Young is going to cause trouble.
Paul Glynn may not be an elite wrestler but he has elite level gas tank and kept it close vs DeSanto...DeSanto put a nice ride on him.
Stickley gave Turk all he could handle and Murin/Happel was a replay of a lot of their previous matches. Both Turk and Happel have talent but they don’t squeeze the trigger while Murin does. I think this weight will go to Midlands unless Murin puts it on Turk.
Pretty much the biggest takeaways for me. Great crowd.

So you laugh at most wrestlers when they prep for a match?lol I can't help but laugh when I see the videos of DeSanto walking around like that. Looks ridiculous with his chest puffed out and arms flapping at his side like he has any back muscles keeping them extended.

Any ISU fan laughing at anything related to wrestling is moronic at best.lol I can't help but laugh when I see the videos of DeSanto walking around like that. Looks ridiculous with his chest puffed out and arms flapping at his side like he has any back muscles keeping them extended.
lol ISU fan? What does that even mean.. Just not a DeSanto fan. Only Hawk I will actively root against after his classless actions last season. Thankfully I think he's a long shot too AA and is going to get hammered by the real 133s this year.

It would if it weren't so obvious it didn't happen.A post like this deserves an electronic punch in the face.
I enjoy it that no one seems to realize Moody suffered losses to the likes of Brady Jennings last season. He's a freestyle specialist. Folk isn't his game at all. That's who he is.

Agreed he is a freestyle guy. A 12-4 win for Kaleb Young is a solid win nonethelessI enjoy it that no one seems to realize Moody suffered losses to the likes of Brady Jennings last season. He's a freestyle specialist. Folk isn't his game at all. That's who he is.
