Iowa wrestle-offs schedule of matches

Something is up here Bowman and Wilcke were suppose to wrestle and didn't. I think Wilson will wrestle one of them tomorrow, possibly because of injury.

That something being up could also have been a misprint. Them wrestling each day didn't make a lot of sense, either. Could be other reasons as well of course.

I wouldn't bet on Stoll beating Cass.

I will be downright shocked if he doesn't beat Cass.

Kaleb was fast on his shots and decisive. Pretty impressive, given Moody’s success in the offseason. He was in control the entire match. I think Kaleb has finally found his weight.
This is a real positive for the Hawks. Now the Hawks need to figure out 141 and 184. Liking the potential of this years team a lot. Go Hawks!!!

Couldn’t agree more. Even easily winning scrambles.

Probably the biggest take away from a team standpoint was Young. He looked like a true 157 whereas Moody looked like a big 165 trying to make 157...looked tired so maybe the cut is affecting him. Young kept shooting and scoring, taking chances, and had crisp, clean shots...at the right weight, he is who we thought he was to paraphrase Coach Green. Young is going to cause trouble.

Paul Glynn may not be an elite wrestler but he has elite level gas tank and kept it close vs DeSanto...DeSanto put a nice ride on him.

Stickley gave Turk all he could handle and Murin/Happel was a replay of a lot of their previous matches. Both Turk and Happel have talent but they don’t squeeze the trigger while Murin does. I think this weight will go to Midlands unless Murin puts it on Turk.

Pretty much the biggest takeaways for me. Great crowd.

Another thing that may have affected Moody’s tank a little bit was that he had a war with Kelly until Kelly broke in the middle of the third whereas Young walked to a TF. Still Young was far and away the better option of the 2.

lol I can't help but laugh when I see the videos of DeSanto walking around like that. Looks ridiculous with his chest puffed out and arms flapping at his side like he has any back muscles keeping them extended.

Watch Austin’s vision quest on Flo. If I did what he did I think I’d walk around with my chest puffed out for the rest of my life.

lol ISU fan? What does that even mean.. Just not a DeSanto fan. Only Hawk I will actively root against after his classless actions last season. Thankfully I think he's a long shot too AA and is going to get hammered by the real 133s this year.

You seriously can't get over something an 18 year old kid tried to do to the point that you will cheer against him? He's not the one with the problem.

Also, he was a brain fart away from AA as a true frosh but after joining the Iowa program he's a long shot to AA?

K.

Thoughts from today:
Lee is a bad man. Kinda feel bad for Perez.
Desanto looked good. Thought he would win by more but familiarity probably had something to do with it.
Murin is number 1 for us at 141. Happel would be number 2 for us from what I saw. Extremely disappointed in Turk.
Lugo owns the spot curious to see how he does against Kolodzik.
Young found his weight!! In his match with Moody I was surprised how flexible he is. His shoulder and knees shouldn't work like that. Actually Kelly put up a good fight with Moody. I was impressed with Joe true frosh against a seasoned vet. Was in deep a lot just couldn't quite finish. Like his potential.
Brands scored at will and seeing him up close is actually very entertaining. Will be interesting to see how he does against the Bull. I see now way how he gets down to 157 but he told me afterwords he could.
Cass looked good. Was close to a turn a couple of times. If he gets Stoll tomorrow then it could be interesting. Like Cass and his potential down the road.

I enjoy it that no one seems to realize Moody suffered losses to the likes of Brady Jennings last season. He's a freestyle specialist. Folk isn't his game at all. That's who he is.

Yes, this is true but it’s not like he would have gotten any better in a year .. you are right . I did see atleast one two point move out of moody against young
