Is Florida Going To Have Some Iowa Weather?

Pretty cool (haha) US weather map. Cold from Canada down to Mexico.

Highest elevation is 69’ (really, no BS) in N Florida, but there are lots of rolling hills.
Sorry Bill. Not accurate.

What is the highest point of Florida?

Britton Hill
The summit of Britton Hill, the state of Florida's highest point at 345 feet (105 m). The hill is located in northern Walton County near the town of Lakewood, Florida, just off County Road 285 about two miles (three kilometers) southeast of Florala, Alabama.

I know. In school they used to say it was Mt. Pleasant over in Gadsden County at 295’. We lived over that way when I was in elementary school and bike riding on those hills was great.
I guess the updated numbers came out with digital data, perhaps.

Let the fun begin…

Leon County Schools Weather Update: LCS will be closed on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 due to incoming anticipated winter weather. We will send an email through FOCUS with additional information.

Whatever that's what we have, and I'm just leaving the house to walk my husky. Perfect weather for her!😶‍🌫️
Our Elkhound mix is out having a blast chasing snowflakes. It started this morning as freezing rain, moved on to flurries were sticking earlier, but it has warmed.
Low in the morning here is projected to be single digits warming to around 20, but snowfall will end tonight. Totals on the mountains of 6-8” is the forecast.

Trad ain't going to be happy.

You Deep South folks (Fl, Ga, Al, Ms, and La.) need to remember to unhook your hoses to outside faucets. Newer homes likely have freeze less hookups, but not older homes.
Either type will freeze and bust if a hose with water in it is hooked up.
It may be smart to wrap a rag or towel around the fixture on the coldest nights. As a kid, we used to let the faucet out at the horse trough drip to avoid freeze/burst.

It's not forecast to get below freezing here at Tradition Manor, but thanks anyway.

Someone please post pics of the empty shelves at your local Publix tomorrow. If it hasn't already been picked clean, that is.

Floridians don't do this because any snow and ice will be gone as soon as the sun comes up.
I expect you to feverishly post Wednesday morning about being out of Nutella, and asking if you should brave the roads, or order it and make some poor soul risk life and limb to bring it to you?

I'm going to be in Raleigh when this epic gulf storm happens.

Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties have all closed their offices on Tuesday and Wednesday. I guess Trad didn't answer his phone.
