Is the GOP a Cult?

bArOlsm.png

Death Cult of dumb as **** people who are attacking the Republic to over throw it to install authoritarian rule.

Both political parties are tribal. This isn't even debatable. However, with the advent of Trumpism, the GOP have taken tribalism to a whole other level.

If Steve Schmidt is right, the Qanon crazies are going to steamroll the rest of what is left of normal in the Republican party. It's gone too far, far right. It isn't coming back because that are who Republicans want representing them. Gun toting buckaroos.

This is already happening and will happen, 100% now. Look at rural Iowa, my ****ing Lord.

You are breathtakingly dumb at times.
I actually agree with YS on this one. Dems to lighten up on their outrage over minor offensive things. Some stuff you can just roll your eyes at a moron and move on. Not all things are equally bad. With that said, the Trump admin makes it hard because there was SOOO much that needed to be called out it made the Dems look whiney when in fact Trump and Co. were actually just that terrible.

This is where i would start my whataboutisms if I was one of the GOPers on this board.

Instead, ill just tell them to STFU everytime the get outraged at every little thing Biden does

I am. This isn’t one of them. Nothing I said is wrong. You being an idiot is the real problem here.
Wrong? No. Relevant? No. A bit hissy? Yes.

And I say that as one of the few (the only one?) here who objected to the Dems' railroading of Franken at the time. Now plenty agree with me, but I made a few liberals mad with my position then.

Within the party, the pro-Trump faction and the business faction are struggling to take control. Those in the business wing of the party are not moderates: they are determined to destroy the government regulation, social welfare legislation, and public infrastructure programs that a majority of Americans like. But they are not openly white supremacists or adherents of the QAnon conspiracy, the way that Trump’s vocal supporters are.

Members of that second faction have risen to power by grabbing headlines with more and more outrageous statements that play well on right-wing media, although they appear to have no program except hatred of the “libs.” Members of this faction are going after the business wing of the party, seemingly with glee. Today Florida Representative Matt Gaetz held a rally outside the Wyoming state capitol to lead a challenge against Wyoming Republican Liz Cheney, the third most powerful Republican in the House of Representatives. Cheney was one of ten Republicans who voted to impeach Trump for inciting the January 6 riot.

Cheney is no “lib”: she is a hard line right-winger. Trump and his supporters are targeting her to make it clear that no one is too powerful for them to go after. The former president wants loyalists across the Republican leadership. The dividing line in the party now is not between moderates and extremists; they are all extremists. It is whether a lawmaker supports the former president and his false accusation that the Democrats “stole” the 2020 election from him.

As if to underscore this reality, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who originally blamed the former president for the January 6 insurrection, has backed down and caved to the Trump wing of the party.

This literally takes us back to the early 20th century, when things like formaldehyde were added to milk, garbage was included in meats, sawdust and brick dust were added in coffee by your "Name Brands Of Today" to maximize their profits at the time.

That era is what ushered in the current USDA and FDA to regulate and make those foods, drugs, etc "safe" for citizens. These ideas to "eliminate regulation" are RADICAL, they are not "libertarian" by any stretch.

At this point, yes. There needs to be a 12 step program made available to everyone who has loved ones in the cult.

Step 1: Lobotomize those in the cult.

Sure, they will then be a burden on their families and society. But less of a burden and much less danger than they are now.

Let's face it, by putting up with them, by tolerating their nonsense and lies, by being too afraid or too lazy to act early, we have ended up with an army of deluded, violence-prone, radical extremists permeating our land and our culture.

Let's take responsibility now, in the hope it isn't too late.

Is it a cult? Well, how many of these signs fit Republicans right now?...

1. Opposing critical thinking

2. Isolating members and penalizing them for leaving

3. Emphasizing special doctrines outside scripture

4. Seeking inappropriate loyalty to their leaders

5. Dishonoring the family unit

6. Crossing Biblical boundaries of behavior (versus sexual purity and personal ownership)

7. Separation from the Church

Don't call someone a "dumbass" while posting dumb shit, dumb ass. 81,000,000 voted for Biden. That's 22.2%, shit for brains. I said :half the country" and you posted 51.4% of VOTERS in 2020, idiot. Two completely different things. At least you and Chis are smart enough to not argue with the FACT that the Dems are the party of the Woke/ Me Too/ Believe All Women/ Cancel Culture idiocy that has plagued the country.
Says don't call someone a dumbass and then proceeds to double down on dumb, I guess that's the kind of next level stupidity that makes Florida men Florida men. You are really clinging to the people who chose to sit out and not vote?! Guess what....a majority of Americans don't vote in every election, but they didn't vote trump either so I'm gonna go ahead on focus on the participants in elections. JFC, pathetic and stupid......that's no way to go through life. Biden won in a landslide (by trump's defintion), dumbass.....spin that however makes you feel better about being the kind of clueless dipshit Trump absolutely loves

Biden just got 51.4 pct of the vote dumbass. About 40 pct of americans won't vote for dems and conspiracy laden lies and brainwashing by right wing media is the main culprit but nothing will change that, the damage is done. Good thing Dems don't need those 40 pct losers as they pushed the moderate R's and independents blue. Nice work, cult nation
Maybe but with this F'd up administration they are coming back in droves.
