ISU blowing out KU in 2nd half of B12 title game

Iowa played a team that is trying to win a national championship. KU is trying to get to the sweet 16. A bit difference in opponent

Cupcake? ISU beat three higher seeds who are all headed to NCAA. 4 titles in 6 years is remarkable

In a conference that no one outside of KU cares about basketball? Let me guess how many thousands of fans the Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia teams bring to this.

Well Iowa did this year so yes, both of them could. Hey, at least you won a conference tournament game this year, it’s a start.

1 Big 12 0.584
2 ACC 0.568
3 Big Ten 0.567
4 SEC 0.566
5 Big East 0.562

The verdict of the RPI is rather clear...what's clearer is that you don't what you're talking about.
That’s a silly comparison since the big12 only has 10 teams.

Lol. Tell me KU or ISU could beat Michigan.

Sure, if Penn State can beat them, anyone can beat them.

That said, the toughness of an overall league is a cumulative measurement of the entire conference...and the RPI calculation tells the tale, the Big 12 top to bottom is the best conference.

If you doubt me, just wait and see what conference has the highest percentage of its teams make the NCAA tournament...that should end the discussion by itself.

Other than Kansas, the Big 12 hasn’t done anything in the NCAA tourney.

Since the 2005, the only Big 12 team to make the final four other than Kansas was Oklahoma, who made it once.

Wow! The big 12 is horrible.

1 Big 12 0.584
2 ACC 0.568
3 Big Ten 0.567
4 SEC 0.566
5 Big East 0.562

You relying on a severely flawed rating system tells me all I need to know about your overall intelligence.

Just post your final four teams since 2000. Then compare that to the ACC & B1G and get back to me with these rankings that say this every year.

I’m happy for ISU. We beat the Big 12 Tourney Champions by 14 and the potential B1G Tourney Champs by 15. Now if we could figure out how to beat MSU, I’d be a happy man.

It IOWA plays to there potential, we can win games.

Were I to do so, all it would tell me is what teams were good 10-15 years ago...which says nothing about how good these teams are here and now. The RPI on the other hand tells us quite precisely how good conferences and teams are in comparison to one another.

Ummm so your telling me that 4 more bad teams in the big 12 wouldn’t lower their rpi?

And four more good teams would elevate our RPI...what's your point?
Fortunately, we don't have four bad teams, but if 4 of our 10 teams were bad it would most assuredly effect our RPI. Whether a league has 16 or 6....the RPI averages out how good or bad those teams are.

You relying on a severely flawed rating system tells me all I need to know about your overall intelligence.

You haven't got a better system...or any system whatsoever...which means your overall intelligence is evidently unable to attain even my lowly level.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Prohm doesnt seem to put much into beating Iowa. It is certainly more important to fans than it is to him. Fran seemed to put EVERYTHING into beating Iowa State this year (see use of Pemsl).

ISU historically gets better in March (see 4 tourney titles in last 6 years) while Iowa flounders. Why? Who knows. ISU has changed coaches, but seems to get better at the year wears on. Frans teams dont.

I will trade a loss to Iowa in December to winning the Big 12 title every year. I'm sure rational Hawk fans feel the same about winning the BTT.

Winning cures a lot of issues. All is well in Ames right now. Never saw this coming after losing 3 straight, especially vs WV.
