ISU blowing out KU in 2nd half of B12 title game

Don’t coaches recruit those kids?

yes that is part of coaching. I think a program’s prestige and fanbase go a long way to sell the product that the coach is offering.

ISU has been winning at a high level for a few decades now. They have an outstanding home record overall and in Big 12 in Hilton....and they have a young enthusiatic fan base that have premium seating behind both ends of the courts.

In comparsion our AD and basketball program are inept. Beholden to old money donors with their hands out like beggars. Sure we’ll cater to the portion of the fanbase that don’t stand up and don’t cheer. It is ass backward and foolish but they do it year in year out. But I digress...

fair enough, it can be somewhat both. I simply think talent is the major factor and displays a teams upside potential.

I think great coaches have great winning teams because they have great players. Any fool could coach Zion Williams.
I agree, but I also think the further you get from the teams who recruit like Duke, UNC, etc. the more it becomes a chicken and the egg type of deal.

But suffice it to say the old “hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard” saying has its limitations.

Glad you care enough about the Hawks you watch us and hang out on our board because I can’t say I do the same for ISU.

I would hope ISU could make a run one of these days given all of the great seeds they have gotten over the recent years. The keys for ISU is play close to home and avoid the ACC & B1G. They need that diet of mid-majors, PAC-12 & SEC powerhouses to show the world they invented the game of basketball.

I’m not high on Purdue either but ISU did find a way to lose to them too in the big dance and Painter is known as a tourney choker.

But you can't stay out of the Iowa State posts. Thanks for paying attention...

You are not an Iowa fan you have made that very clear over time.

i am very apolgetic for my words on cf. this tourney prohm seemed to have such a firm grasp on the culture and play of the team. i doubted and misunderstood his vision and said some very unncaptable things attacking his character and vision. not seeing him on the podium for the ceremony told me everything i should have seen. (can someone send this to the mods on cf please)

also wigginton is heating up like we have never seen. something may be brewin here.

Translation —- the Big12 gets rankings not results.
In all fairness, the Big 12 had 3/8 of the elite eight last year and had three teams taken out by the Villanova team that blew out the National Championship game. 30% of the conference made the elite eight, I am pretty certain that’s pretty solid and very rare.

Not really —- there’s no comparison between our leagues. The Big 12 has fewer members by a lot, small fan bases and very few programs with any history. Be happy for yourself but the two leagues share nothing in common to compare. ISU has never won the B1G or B1G conference tourney. When that happens gloat all you want.
The Big 12 has no programs with any history?
WVU, OU, OSU, KSU, Texas and KU all have solid histories in basketball. And the Big Ten has Northwestern, Nebraska, Penn St, Rutgers and to a lesser extent Minnesota that have little to no history of success.

According to Monte Morris and Naz Long Iowa is isu’s Super Bowl. I can’t find any Iowa players saying the same thing about isu.

why do you think pemsl came back for that one game this season?

of course the game means more to the players (on both teams) than most individual games.

He didn’t play in just one game this season. Must ignore anything that doesn’t fit clown fan reality.

Lol. Tell me KU or ISU could beat Michigan.

Sure, if Penn State can beat them, anyone can beat them.

That said, the toughness of an overall league is a cumulative measurement of the entire conference...and the RPI calculation tells the tale, the Big 12 top to bottom is the best conference.

If you doubt me, just wait and see what conference has the highest percentage of its teams make the NCAA tournament...that should end the discussion by itself.
Are you retarded? Anybody with eyes can see how weak the big 12 is this year. Congrats on arguing you have a bunch of above average teams. There isn’t a team even sniffing a top 2 seed in the tourney.

Yep he played in games other than the clowns. Clown fans sure do lose it when their reality is shattered.

Who is Jeff?
Games? He played 13 minutes in a game. Then it was announced his season was over and would have surgery a month later. Prior to the surgery, he opted to play against ISU and only played against ISU.

It's rare, but it will be awhile before a conference has three spots in the Final Four, as the Big East did the year Villanova upset Georgetown for the title.

Why would you list the top teams in one conference but the bottom teams in the other? Not a very good way to compare. The Big 12 teams you listed don’t rings bells as being consistent tournament success stories other than Kansas. Atleast not the same as MSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana (not as of late), OSU.

Hah! And why do you think Lard was brought back just in time for the Iowa game?! How that guy is still even eligible to play is beyond me.....but then again he does go to ISU.

Lard brought himself back off suspension? I’m guessing that was all Pollard and Prohm. I already knew Pollard had a hard on for Iowa, but was surprised at how desperate Prohm was to win that game.

should lard have skipped the game if his suspension was over? do you think pemsl made the choice all by himself to come back from that one game and didnt tell anyone his plan? and then unbeknownst to the coaches checked himself into the game?

You think McCaffery told Pemsl he was healthy enough to play?!

Who made the decision to bring Lard back in time for the Iowa game?

Who made the decision to bring Lard back in time for the Iowa game?

who made the decision to bring cordell pemsl back just for the isu game?

if you dont think the game means more to just about everyone involved than most of their games you are insane.

I’m guessing Pemsl and the medical staff decided he could go and McCaffery agreed to let him play.

and how long do you think lard should have been suspended for?
No idea, but it obviously wasn’t long enough - as it really didn’t change his behavior. Regardless, I thought it was interesting that the suspension ended just in time for the Iowa game - which you could obviously plan-out (well in advance).

so you dont know how long he was suspended but think they should have sat him for extra games so he missed the iowa game?
