Man! That’s a good looking group! A quick point guard, a 3pt shooter, and then tons and tons of long, athletic players with many different possibilities in terms of lineups. It looks like it will be a deep bench because I see way more than 5 guys deserving of minutes.

As much as I love Iowa Basketball (It's my favorite sport), I don't see how you can't be enjoying the #5 football team this year, especially that defense.

I am. However, if the choice is basketball season or football season, well, I wouldn't care if there is ever another football game. I don't watch any football other than Iowa, no college, no NFL. Just not interested.

I'll watch all or parts of 100+ NBA games, every Iowa game and a few select college games once the season starts.

and the fact that they BOTH rebound will be something Iowa fans are not used to

Would this be the plan? Can Kris play the two at 6'9? If so, that not only is awesome from a rebounding perspective but that length on the perimeter would really impact opposing guards.

We gotta get a grip on these non football sports. The NBA needs to start its season around Christmas and get that ridiculous shit wrapped up by Memorial Day. While I'd like to just ban baseball I'm a compromiser so MLB can start the week after the Super Bowl and then wrap it up with the world series around Labor Day.

College BBall could start around Thanksgiving and be finished before Easter.

That way we've got some solid time for business season/spring NFL activities and spring college coverage. Summer, there's time for golf and the CFL. Hell even some time for tennis if there were any competitive Americans. But of greatest importance we'd have a lot more time for football and college BBall.

Forgot about hockey. They still play hockey in the US don't they? Throw that in somewhere that has the least impact on football coverage.

As much as I enjoyed watching Kenyon play for the Hawks when I was a student there, its “doubly” satisfying to see his boys excelling on and off the court. I can’t imagine the pride he feels.

This is the hidden benefit of sports that goes far beyond wins and losses.

Im interested to see what the 3 new bigs can do but I still think Iowas best line up is 3 guards and the twins, or sub out a guard for Pat.

The versatility of that line up on both ends would special.

I would love to see the two Murrays, Patrick, Joe T/Ulis, and Perkins....this would be an athletic lineup with length across the front line. If Perkins 3 point shot is a high 30% range that could make this lineup lethal. I think that they could run and score in transition, good rebounding, they would be capable of playing good defense, and be decent in the half court offense. When they had to play a team like Illinois or Purdue they could bring in a big.

All that said, I suspect the lineup will be more like this: JoeT, JBO, Patrick, Keegan, & Rebraca...
