You're pretty sure about that. A kid who went toe to toe with Nelson Brands in the state finals isn't worthy of being recruited on his own merit in your mind, I guess.
Iowa just got Connor Corbin from Valley. Does that mean there using him as bait to get Shapiro?
I like Lara...kid is a scrapper from what I saw. Also know that Axmear took him out at freestyle state by TF.
Ft Dodge is one of the good teams now so establishing a pipeline from right down the road seems logical...plus they probably got him for little to no money.

You guys are probably right. I mean the kid lost a tight one to Nelson freaking Brands for crying out loud. I seriously doubt anyone would want him in their room unless he helps to get Teske in the fold.
I am sure after rolling with Metcalf and Zadick Lara will be just fine.

I would argue that Brands has a much higher upside than Lara.
Iowa State isn't those schools. You're trying way too hard. FD is a whole hour from Ames and Lara works out in Ames on a regular basis. He's a legit recruit. Not all legit recruits are top 10 p4p guys.
You & I agree. I'm saying I hope they are giving Lara a good chunk of money to come to the room to try & get Teske too. & I hope they continue this strategy & I hope they get Teske. Spencer will kick his a$$
Brands and Co have made Teske a priority. Why would you want him to go to ISU?
If throwing a few bucks at Lara helps them land Teske, more power to them. It's your opinion that Lara isn't worthy of going to ISU that I'm questioning.
While everyone argues about Lara, I'm confused as to why Tom would have been in Fort Dodge at 12:01 on July, 1st. Looking for a back up 25?

Just listened to the blue chip recruiting podcast and VT & Indiana have already visited, Princeton will be, and Michigan. No mention of Iowa and it seems as if he's going to take 3 visits for wrestling and 2 for football

Every year we figure out on here that the posters don't have a clue how recruiting works. There is only so much money to go around. You can't go chasing every guy that wants a full ride. Also, has there been one bit of evidence that Teske is their top priority? I don't believe that is the case. Maybe Tom is going to make Bael and Dresser offer Teske more while secretly bringing Teasdale back home.
Anyone fill me in on this new HWT Cassiopi (spelling), I hadn't heard much until this thread...rankings? Wins? Etc? Possibly he's cheaper so Iowa can still get sasso, hidlay without breaking bank at HWT?
Pinned his way through at sate to win a class 3A Illinois state title last year, placed 3rd the year before. Was a Fargo runner up last year in freestyle losing to gremmel and beating Isley, also took 3rd in Greco. Pinned Costello at folkstyle nationals and beat vough from Ohio and curd from Missouri at junior duals. Also lost to Schultz in 2 straight matches to make the juniors Greco team at the open and lost to Stevenson in freestyle in the semis at the open

To be clear I want Teske. But am a little concerned why the coaches want him as bad as some on here have said. And what I mean is if either Teske or Lee can go 133 awesome. But I have only heard they are both '25 lifers. I have also heard that when healthy Lee would handily take Teske. So, outside of depth, are the coaches concerned Lee won't get back to 100 percent which is why we Teske so bad? Once again, I want Teske I just hope Lee will be back to 100 percent and one can go 133. My 2 cents.
I think it will be interesting year for the in state talent of Iowa. Will we start seeing walls go up across the state. Will Iowa state try and lock down powerhouses Fort Dodge Southeast Polk and Des Moines schools. Will UNI try and keep the talent form New Hampton Waverly and young talent coming out of Denver. Iowa has Iowa city west and a lot of Bettendorf connections. It looks like Iowa will get two out of Iowa city west.
On another topic Nelson is considered a top in state Iowa recruit. Nelson has won a lot in and out of state. He hasn't destroyed his opponents at state tournament. Could there actually be more talent in the state than some members on this board want to believe
