Fran's got plenty of money. He can buy a house in Indy get to see his boys a lot do the occasional consulting or on-air gig when he feels like it.

I find I'm feeling some of that myself. I'm ready for change, without a doubt, but a part of me finds it bittersweet.
I could definitely envision him on BTN if he has any interest in that.

We were going to change coaches sometime in the next 3 years regardless. There's no way Fran was getting another extension.
Makes the most sense to do it now.
I don't see how any Hawkeye fan could be grief stricken about this. He got twice as long as most coaches would get with his results. Add that to the nepotism with his boys and it's long overdue. He put his kids over the program, period. I just wish this would've happened years ago, but the timing could be perfect if we get the Drake coach. The curse of Iowa basketball is about to come to an end.
