I totally agree. I think Sullivan will bounce back if gets the chance and he and Stratton look like a very solid pair to go into spring camp with. It will really help if Jimmy Sullivan can enroll in the spring. I really want to see us develop the QBs we recruit and not rely on the portal. Would like to see Lainez stay in the program also but his status seems up in the air at the moment.

Let these guys make plays, take the f***ing chains off of them. Look at both Sullivan and Stratton...they have ability. The only way to develop it is reps. Lots of 'em.
I could be wrong but I think he started the first couple of games for CSU last year & really struggled before Norvell benched him & it’s been the (then freshman) qb ever since.
I think the current CSU qb that replaced Stratton had his first start last year in Boulder in that epic game.
And Stratton never really played again.

Yup. I agree, I think Lester is getting some guys he feels he can work with.Not that Lainez is not one of them too, I just think we are getting to the development part where some good healthy competition takes place. I am also likeing the way the wr room is starting to turn the corner and on the up it would seem. Got some good TE's and some good young RB's. We may just be headed in the right direction with this offense, (we have seen enough trending upwards and enough of the young guys to get the impression we might be turning the corner) IF WE CAN PUT TOGETHER A STOUT OL.

Iowa needs to hire an Elite, quarterback coach. The program makes plenty of money to finance the position. There may be a limit on coaches that prohibits this, I'm not sure what the restrictions are. It seems that the team has talented enough players, they just stagnate when they get to the program or the development is very sub standard.
Iowa needs to hire an elite wr coach and let him and Lester run the offense with a downfield passing game. Hire this type of coach and the kids out of high school and the portal will see Iowa is serious about their passing system. When you promote a guy like Budmyer to the position, speaks volumes about what you think of that position group and their importance in the offensive game plan as well as recruiting front.

Honest question. Are familiar with Kirk’s risk management view of offense? We throw downfield less than almost any team in FBS. Better under Lester? A little but not much
