Ol' Doodle doesn't start a ton of threads around here....but watching College Game day, Doodle was compelled to ask if anyone else is tired (exhausted even) of the incessant James Madison whining?

FFS the rules are the rules. Why is it only "unfair" because you're currently undefeated and would potentially be in line for a major bowl?

Would the FCS-to-FBS 2-year transition rule still be "unfair" if they were 6-4 and out of the Sun Belt race and at best in line for a mid-December bowl?

This is just more irrational piling on hoping the court of knee-jerk public opinion will help sway the 'convenient villain' NCAA. "Waaaa! We demand special treatment because...well...just because you're big meanies, that's why. Oh and of course because big bowl game money."

Boo f---ing hoo. Enough already. Every other FCS team moving to FBS has endured the same two seasons of purgatory. You're not special. Get over it.

Here endeth the rant.

Doodle now returns you to your regularly scheduled Iowa Offense hand wringing, already in progress.

"Why are people so upset about Noah Shannon's suspension? FFS the rules are the rules. Is it only 'unfair' because he's a Senior and won't play another game?

Would it still be 'unfair' if he was a back-up who only saw 10 snaps a game? Or is it just because he's an All-Conf caliber player?

This is just more irrational piling on, hoping the court of knee-jerk public opinion will help sway the 'convenient villain' NCAA.'Waaaa! We demand special treatment because...well...just because you're big meanies, that's why'"

DUDE, injustice is injustice, and bad rules are bad rules, whether you're an undefeated James Madison or an ineligible Noah Shannon. The NCAA is a horribly run organization, and we should take EVERY opportunity to bash them when they make inexplicably idiotic decisions

Here endeth MY rant

Doodle couldn't agree with you more. He knowingly broke the rule, fully aware of the punishment, and then when the punishment came, well not him so much but KF and many others around here cried about it.

Not even in the same ballpark. Apples to pistachios.

You can certainly argue if the punishment fits the crime....but the time to make that argument is not after you've committed the crime, knowing what the punishment was.

JMU was fully aware of the rules of transitioning from FCS to FBS. They haven't violated any rules....they just want permission to void the rules. Treatment they absolutely would not be seeking of they were 6-4. Either the 2-year purgatory is unfair or it isn't. You can't just conveniently argue unfairness ONLY when big money prestige things are on the line. Disingenuous.
