Jason’s Deli

Jason’s? What is it and where?

Oh I see. A deli in the south. Got it.

I’m perhaps confused here - we have something in Iowa known as Jason’s Deli too, with more than one location. I’m now uncertain if these are the same chain or what’s going on here.

My bad for including Iowa as the south. You are to me. But a poor choice of word on my part.

Jason’s Deli is nowhere near as good as any local deli you will find across America and they definitely do not live up to their high price point.

But honestly, Toojays is the only chain deli I’ve had that is actually good. The rest of them don’t hold a candle to places like Central Grocery, Langers or Katz.

I dont know why, but this response has me cracking up. I'm just imagining this conversation in real life and somebody responding to a chicken salad disagreement this over the top.

Chicken salad is serious business.

And for the record, I make both savory and sweet varieties of chicken salad with leftover chicken. And a yellow or red Indian curry powder usually goes in the sweet varieties as it helps sweeten the chicken to pair well with grapes, pineapple, apples, jicama or other fruit.

I never thought it was more than just ok. Fine if you have to, but I wouldn't actively choose it.

I wonder what kind of soft serve they have in the Jason's Deli in Iowa though. Because in Atlanta, it's disgusting ice milk crap that's only fit for animals and undiscriminating toddlers. It's like two thirds water and a third skim milk with some yellow dye. Free is charging too much.
